I had my new Clie in my bag and some gunk got inside the charger hole and has made the contacts in the middle grubby. At first it wouldn't hotsync but after some gentle rubbing with a rolled up post-it note on the contacts it does now. The contacts are still grubby though and I'm not too pleased.

So 2 questions:

1) How do I clean the contacts - I tried a cotton bud but it was too big.

2) How do you all protect yours? I don't particularly want a big case but is that the only option?

Thanks!

Use some small some what stiff bristle brush very slightly dampened with alcohol or lighter fluid and then let it evaporate. Do not insert anything conductive. Hold Clie vertically as much as possible with the connector end down.

Mine is in a case, but the connector area is still open. I try to be careful where I place it.

I try to keep it in a case as much as possible to avoid problems like this. I am looking at the PEG-CA100 case as it offers extra space for the Clie and the accessories. Not available in UK yet but hopefull soon
