They probably wont give us any upgrade, not even OS6. I know sony sucks.

If you want the new OS, buy a new Sony Clie - whenever they come out.
"Planned obsolescence" ??

I'm not aware that you can do a "flash" upgrade on Clies - can you ??

Sony has only offered an upgrade once. from the N710 to the N760 (I don't know the OS versions) I believe. They charged for it and you had to send it in to them.
I believe the update leaked onto the internet fairly quickly and people were able to do this upgrade themselves for free, or have someone else do it cheaper. Something like that.
As such there are many opinions that Sony will not offer an upgrade like that again.

I don't understand that. When I had a Palm IIIXe I upgraded that OS 3 times succesfully by myself, for free with no problem. I also don't understand why it is said here we don't have enough flash. The new Palm Zire is 16mb like the clie, and IT has the OS 5.2.
