Questions about a battery (Running Power 900 mAh)

Hi,

I recently acquired a second-hand UX-50. As I noticed the battery wasn't able to hold charge for so long, I decided to replace it by another one labeled "Running Power", 3.7 v 900 mAh that the previous owner had also included with the package.

The PDA has been charging all night long through the cradle (PEGA JC-40) and I thought the battery had to be completely charged, but, to my surprise it seems not ...

If I have a look at the battery information application for a while, I can see the following :

The status shows "discharging" and rapidly (every 10 seconds looses 2% load) decreases from the initial 100% to a "stable" 15%.

Is that normal? I left it charging at its cradle for more than 8 hrs...

How many hours are required to load the battery at full charge?

Hello!

Normally, hold a charge 2-3 hours is enough for 900Mah, I think your charger output between 4-500mA.

As your status, the battery is aging already.

Near to replace another.

You have a last change, when charge the machine, press the reset on the back of the UX-50 to reset the battery memory. If still no usage. Replace it.

I have had Running Power batteries (1 in my UX50 and 2 in my modified cradle battery (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108682)) and they have all performed well. It does sound as though the problem is almost certainly down to the replacement battery being either faulty or just too old.

But I'm afraid I've got rid of these problems, because I've acquired a used TH-55 from eBay and once I have it at home I'll sell my UX-50.

I never owned the TH-55; the UX50 was always ideal so never saw the point in "upgrading".

You can also pick up batteries from ebay via Hong Kong very cheaply.
