Did you look under the skins and backgrounds forum? Accessible from the home page.

This site will answer a lot of the questions you're having about the skins.

Silk plug-in's are not the same as graffiti skins. The NX allows plug-ins that can be created to replace the graffiti area - appearance AND functionality. I ran a search on the formum a while ago and found one that acted as a calculator

I think he is asking about Silk Plugins such as the miniCalc and calendar plugins. I don't have links, and I forgot where I got the ones I have. Can someone help us out on this one?

Finally found the link I was looking for:

http://www.jade.dti.ne.jp/~imazeki/palm/SlkM/index.html

The Silk Plugins are not the same as the skins, they are little programs, plugins, or "Silklets" that replace the standard Graffiti area with something else.

The site and software above are in Japanese. Download the zip file at the bottom of the page, it contains a manager program which allows you to change settings in the plugins. It also has 3 plugins, an analog clock, a calculator, and a datebook that shows appointments for today.

Install the 4 files and then hit the SilkPlugin button on the status bar (4th from the left). Select one of the plugins listed, the names don't appear correctly but the icons are descriptive enough.

I have worked out what I think are usable translations of the silklets and the manager and could post them later this evening if anyone is interested.

Thanks Dazey, that is exactly what I was looking for. I would love to see more of these skinlets developed in English. If I knew where to start I'd give it a shot.

Sorry about the faulty info guys. I just got my NX after having the NR for awhile, and wasn't aware of these plugins. Now if there was some way to not have OKey cover the Plugin button up, but still provide the hidden hard buttons.

These are cool, thanks for the link.

so2, thanks for asking the question.

Dazey, thanks for the answer. And as I'm trying to figure out he the settings, I wouldn't mind translation of the options if you already have them.

I knew you could do it. Just didn't know where the plugins where and like ridunn mentioned, it be nice if the plugin button somehow worked with okey. It would also be nice if the plugin settings survived resets. But maybe I'm missing something. Anyway thanks for the added feature info!

Not sure if you aready know this or not, but there is a .PRC file that comes with Okey that adds a Silk Plug-in option to the System Preferences so you can still change the plug-ins. Not as easy, but at least it's still do-able

I wish you could do a tap and hold on one of the arrows, or split the up arrow into two parts, where if you hit the upper part it does an up arrow, and the lower part would bring up the silk change dialogue.

Does anyone know the email of the Okey developer so we can pass along suggestions?

Sorry I didn't post the link earlier, was waiting for a reply from the person who hosts the Japanese files.

The zip below contains the SilkletManager, Clock, Datebook, Calculator, and Calendar plugins with mostly english text:

http://www.qagh.com/clie/downloads/Silk%20Plugins%20EN.zip

The two zip files inside the one I linked to are the originals and you don't need to install any of the files in them unless you want the Japanese versions. Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

I'm just giddy with this new feature!

FWIW, if anyone wants to see the clock skin I've posted my palmtop to palmsource here (http://www.palminfocenter.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9555&whichpage=3&ARCHIVE=)

zztechs.com used to have 6 sample backgrounds (don't seem 'em now), but you can use any 320X480 BMP image you want (instructions) (http://www.zztechs.com/en/zlauncher/faq.php4#faq02).

Look in cliesource's downloadable areas, too, for ZLauncher Themes.

As for mine *smirk*, it's something I happend across a long time ago when I used to collect Spawn comic books. The character, Armature, is a creation of Steve Oliff of Olyoptics (see olyoptics.com) and I've never seen a duplicate of the image anywhere before.

I goto YiShow launcher area, inside cliesource files, and downloaded some awesome skins that look great on zlauncher.

I found one of a naked chick (not porno) with smoke coming out the her eyes, and it has a silk skin with it. Use it with the "ZL2_Hon_Poly05_....", Not sure if it came w/ ZL or I d/l it afterwards.

Looks better than copperdeck.

Ahta try it. Sorry I can't provide links.

Hey you're using my OkeyBar Skin *smile* hasn't anybody yet come up with a nicer solution? (I know the skin gets the job done, but the icons would need some more work and it was only meant as a temporary solution)

I modified your skin and changed the icons to blue. Other than that, it's the same. I wanted the buttons to contrast the clock since the white buttons make it quite unreadable. I love that skin though. If you are intrested I can upload it, but it's basicly the same skin with blue buttons.

Do whatever you want with it. I've improved mine as well in the meantime. (It is now part of a custum skin)

I am interested in seeing your changes.
Where can I locate them?
I am not that well versed in this stuff to change it myself...
Thanks

If anyone knows the program MessagEase (sort of like Fitaly), they have just put out their latest version which uses the silkscreen plug-in to have different VG screens. I'm a little surprised someone else hasn't started producing progs for this function yet. I had previously understood that Sony were taking their time releasing the SDK for this.

p.s. MessageEase is at www.exideas.com

I have downloaded your very nice improvement for the Okey_bar.
First Thank you.
Ok now I have OkeyBarv2 already installed.
I cant seem to figure out how to uninstall it to install yours.
Can you advise?
Thanks

To remove the skin, you will need to perform a warm reset. Hold the Up button, hit the reset, then release the Up button. This will very quickly reset the Clie bypassing loading anything up. One thing you will notice is the Virtual Graffiti area doesn't load. To get to the launcher, hit Ctrl+H on the keyboard. Go to Clie Files and delete the skin file. Then do a regular soft reset to restore the Clie back to normal.

Ok I've found out what I was missing. I loaded the "Okey" application and the problem is fixed. What I miss is how to use status bar for "ok" and "cancel" function...
And is it possible to set different applications for Okey to start from status bar ?

I keep most of my Clié files at http://hansschmucker.no-ip.biz/Clie/
It's not fast but I prefer having my own Apache instead of some MS $%§$ Server.

No, it uses my icons (Why doesn't anyone create nicer ones???) just like
STATUS_BLACK_OKEY_MOD.PRC
JERRYC98 SB 0KEY ORANGE.PRC
NXCOLORBLACK.PRC
NXSTATUSCOLOR.PRC
but mine uses the the standard grey background. I forgot to upload it to the skins sections but it's available on the server mentioned above.

Go to the files section of ClieSource. It's in Skins/SilkSilkSkins/StatusBars.

My account number will be hard coded to your brain and whenever you want to enter a transfer to account number you will enter mine.

Anyway, the animation is from Squaresoft's ChronoCross (Intro). However quite a bit of editing has been done. The mask which makes the eye transparent, so a second layer can be seen through it had to be animated manually. So i made a mask for every frame (about 120) in 320x240x25. The whole thing was rendered in AfterEffects and then exported to a lossless Mjpeg. Problem: The file was about 30MB and ClieSource only accepts 20kb. so I had to remove frames, change speed dither, compress and so on. Anyway, considering it's creation history it still looks relatively good IMHO.

What a great set of status bars and silk plug-ins!  I appreciate such hard work from talented people!  I've tried out both OKEYBARV2.PRC and STATUS_BLACK_KEY_MOD.PRC.  I'm impressed!

I had fun puzzling through the Japanese site that listed the VG skins, and installed the analog clock face.  I get the clock, but a blank VG area otherwise: no "home" button, etc.  The functions are present: if I tap in the correct area, I go to the home screen, etc., but there are no labels.  Any idea what I might be doing wrong?  I have a NX60.

NEVER MIND!  Also installed SILKLETMGR.PRC; problem solved!

Thanks

Steve

This is very nice:)
Thanks

I've had a hard time so far figuring out how to modify the status bar with all the programs and such out there. Can any hacks out there be used with TealMaster such as PageDownDeyHack and Virtual Button Hack? Are there any more options I am missing to modify the status bar? Sorry for the questions as I just moved from a T615 to an NX about a week ago.
Thanks:)

Tixx, go get a copy of OKey. It's very similar to PageDownHack for the NR. It adds physical up and down buttons to the status bar, plus it adds invisible buttons for the 4 hardware buttons (battery=datebook, and address book, todo and memo on the left, center, and right part of the clock section. Plus, if you check the Super Jog Assist option, if you hold down the jog dial for a second or two in an app that has a button (like the buttons at the bottom of DB5), it will highlight one, and then you can use the jog dial to scroll between the buttons until you select the one you want.
