I have one PDB file I need to convert to WAV. The PDB file was created in the Palm Treo 680's voice memo program, then moved to the internal SD card and from there to my desktop computer.
(Now that I know about this PDB trouble, I'll never use that format again.)
How do I get this PDB file into WAV format? I've found a few sites where they discuss wrappers, packages, JPegs and such; but, that's all going right over my head.

I wonder if there is a website that will convert a small PDB or Wav into MP3. Maybe if you submit it to facebook they will convert it? I know that WAV is still acceptible at some webblog sites.

Well, if there's no way to convert it, how can I put it back into the phone so I can play it.
When I put it on the SD card, I had to move it as the application gave me an error message every time I tried to copy it.

IIRC, the PalmDesktop version for the T3 (or maybe for the T2) has the VoiceMemo component (including the conduit). When you opened VoiceMemos in PalmDesktop you had a command to export the Memos to WAV. Doesn't your PalmDesktop have this option? If not, you could find and install the T3's PD to a second PC and try to convert the files.

Thanks but I don't know what IIRC means.
How does one open VoiceMemos in the Palm Desktop? The only way I see to open/play them is on the Palm device. I don't see anything like that in Palm Desktop 4.2 for the Treo 680.
Where/how would I get Palm Desktop for the T3 or T2?
Again, is there a way to put it back on the phone so I can at least play it?
In the voice memo program, I have the following:
In the drop-down menu under Voice Memo:
Record Now
Rename Memo
Beam
Send (to Bluetooth and messaging)
Copy to Ringtone
Under Edit:
Undo
Cut
Copy
Paste
Select All
Keyboard
Keyboard Help
Under Options:
Preferences ("confirm memo deletion" and "play confirmation sounds"

Sorry, I meant "If I Recall Correctly"... it's been a lot of years since I used the PalmDesktop from my T3 and T2.
How does one open VoiceMemos in the Palm Desktop?
As I said above, the versions I'm talking about do have a Voice Memo icon (and conduit) under PalmDesktop. I'm pretty sure you could play memos and export them to WAV. I'll see if I can find my T3's CD to confirm this.
The only way I see to open/play them is on the Palm device. I don't see anything like that in Palm Desktop 4.2 for the Treo 680.
Some newer devices come with a "generic" PalmDesktop lacking some conduits (i.e.: VoiceMemo, Notes, etc). But I'd expect a cellphone with voice memo capability would be able to export to WAV.
Where/how would I get Palm Desktop for the T3 or T2?
ebay? Palm itself would be little help, as their site only has the generic versions and I don't know if they sell the CDs.
Again, is there a way to put it back on the phone so I can at least play it?
I don't remember exactly how... you can try searching over at Brighthand, several years ago we had a thread just about this.
Let's see if I can find that CD... I'll let you know later.

I don't have the T3's CD with me... I think I have it back home. I won't go home for another week or 10 days. If I find it I'll let you know, if you still need it I can email you the installer so you can try to convert your PDB.

It's been three weeks and I still haven't found a solution to this problem. Does anyone know of anyone who would convert this for me? I don't mind paying and can transmit payment by PayPal.

Alex, send me the pdb and I'll convert it for you in wav and mp3. You still have my email address from when I sent you the Treo screwdriver and switch?

I finally stumbled onto the search terms that led me to an answer. Here are the instructions that worked for me and I'll post them here in the event this will help someone else:
This is how to convert PDB to MP3. I have done this with audio files only.
Download and install two freeware programs from the internet, Clie Picture Converter and Mobile Media Converter.
Go to your Palm data folder on your PC, something like
C:\Program Files\Palm\[user-name]\Backup. If you are using Windows XP or Vista, your path may start in the Documents and Settings folder or the Users folder, instead of the Program Files folder.
You'll find VoicePad files with names something like
[xxxxxxxxxxxx]_Vpad.pdb.
Copy the desired VPad files to a temporary folder.
Open Clie Picture Converter, and drag the files from the temporary folder to the Clie Picture Converter window.
New files with the JPG extension will appear in the temporary folder.
Rename/change the JPG extension(s) to AMR extension(s).
Use Mobile Media Converter to convert the AMR files to MP3 files.
