What about nicks and dents on the body?

Not sure if you're lucky because it survived or unlucky because it fell in the first place!
Makes me wonder if the wrist strap isn't such a bad idea...

Like myself, get a soft case for future accidents!

I have a case problem is when I use it it is out of the case, otherwise the thing is too damn big

Just judging from different user comments over time, the NZ90 may be big, but dang if it isn't tough. I remember somebody saying they dropped their's from the second or third floor and it survived unscathed.

I think it depends on what part of the nz hits the floor. I dropped my first nz and one corner of the swivel screen hit the flloor. The impact loosened the swivel screen.

Mine's taken two hard falls. One in the livng room out of my hands while walking. Caused hard reset and loosened the left side of the camera casing by the lense. Second, cat knocked off nightstand. Landed on bottom edge and put a slight dent on the left top edge right next to where the power LED is. Also lost a little finish from that. Pretty sturdy unit. Can't see one of those flimsy NX's taking that kind of abuse....:D

my NX survived a few falls. But the NZ does sound like a very sturdy unit, I guess bigger is stronger? :p

I dropped mine awhile back.
I was getting some things from the trunk of my car and my NZ fell about 4 feet on to asphalt LOL.
It survived the fall very well, a couple little scratches on the holder for the stylus tip and a little one the corner above the flash.
I am very impressed with the fit and finish of the NZ.

I freak out when I drop ANY of my PDA. I can't imagine myself putting in the same position as you guys dropping your NZ90 on a hard floor...

Trust me .... your heart stops and time goes into the Matrixy slow motion effect.... My hard reset drop was really scary cuz it wouldn't turn on til I pulled the battery and reinserted. PANIC!!!! :D

Davy,
Your gonna have to figure a way to strap the unit to yourself. I have a habit of dropping things so it's up to me to protect my Clie. The sound of our very expensive Clie hittin' a hard floor makes my skin crawl.

If the NZ is dropped there may be a problem with the camera. Digital camere ccd's are very delicate and very easily dislodged.
I dropped mine 1metre onto a metal floor of a london tube train last week. No funtional damage, no cosmetic damage except that the swivel joint is now slightly bowed and there is a 1mm gaparound the pivot. I consider this to be a lucky escape.
BTW I use the wrist strap, but this happen when I was putting it into a jacket packet and missed...

no, it's magnesium. try to light it with a bunsen burner, it will give you a nice white flame. good for fireworks.  :D
