View Full Version : 3rd party apps sync to OS X & Win XP

I used to sync my old Visor to my home Performa AND my Win 98 machine at work. My Performa died and I couldn't afford a new Mac for awhile--still can't :(

My work computer was replaced and I run XP on a new Dell and have been syncing to it since Sept. Last month, I bought a used G3 B&W and am running 10.2.3 (talk about a transition from 7.5.3!)

I'm syncing with both machines again, and the Palm apps are fine (except a little duplication of the US holidays, but no biggie).

However, I'm getting stange behavior from some third party apps that have both conduits. SplashID won't sync on my Mac, even though the rest of the Splash Wallet suite does. It tells me the serial numbers don't match (they look identical). I've contacted SplashData today and we'll see.

Also, PocketMoney QIFs using the OS X conduit are a little wacky. Sometimes it includes all transactions, other times it contains just checks, other times it contains just recent transactions. I'm not relying on quicken for data entry, just reports & budgeting, but I'd like the two apps to agree!

I'm not sure if these problems are due to double-syncing or are Mac related or what! I didn't have sync problems with my Visor, but I didn't have any third party apps with conduits back then.

If I get the Mac stuff working, I'll only sync those apps at home (I don't really want my Splash ID & PocketMoney DBs at work anyway.) I have to sync my built-in apps at work so I can enter stuff via the Palm Desktop.

What does anyone else think? Any similar experiences?
