Well, I managed to mess things up. Loaded an audio player skin to ms via hotsync. Once I transfered skin to clie, when I launched audio player, I got the famous No skin found warning. Tried some advice from another palm board. Used Fileman to change attribute of read only skin prc but when I deleted it I was unable to launch audioplayer, and this time I have a fatal alert:

MemoryMgr.C, Line 3564 Null handle

Found these files still on handheld: AudioPlayer MSAp... 0.8k

AudioPlayer Skin 346.6k

AudioPlayer 152.k

AudioLibrary 15.2k

So I am wondering why I still have a skin on RAM after I supposedly deleted it. Here's the clincher: The skin I found the one above, When I go to change attribute unchecking read only it says it's attributes can't be changed and when I go to delete it, clie says can't delete selected database.. What is the next step?

PLEEEEEASE HELP

Thanks in advance
Kelly

Did you do a warm reset?

You can do a warm reset, which is done by holding the Up button while resetting. This won't load anything so there will be no VG area. Hit Ctrl-H on the keyboard, go to Clie Files, then you can delete the skin files. Then do a regular reset.

One other fix is to do a hard reset and then restore from your memory stick backup.

Thanks so much!! I did exactly that! No long reinstall/hot sync. Now...I still would like a new audioplayer skin. Just how to do it without problems!

I did a warm reset
I found the audio skin using Filez on RAM. I changed attribute from ready only and then deleted. I then soft reset. Then my audio player launched no problem. I tried to install again another skin, but it wouldnt work. I did install directly to ms stick. But to no avail.
