I'm disappointed about TG-50

Hello to all!

My first posting here. Ehm,...I went to my local Clié reseller to test the TG-50 here in Vienna.

pfff! What should I say? I will stay with my old S-320.

1.) The screen is VERY small - though res is good as always.
2.) Missing Graffiti-area does hurt a lot - PalmOS is stylus and graffiti based!
3.) The small keyboard is not usable by adult fingers. :(
4.) The 4 dark spots on the bottom of the screen do hurt also.
5.) Why "old" PalmOS version 5.0 ???


--> I want SONY to build following PDA:

1.) Overall external size comparable to TG-50
2.) Bluetooth
3.) 200-400MHz XScale CPU
4.) large HIRES+ screen (320x 480pixel) with Softgraffiti-area.
5.) PalmOS 5.2.1 or PalmOS 6.0
6.) MS StickPRO support
7.) NO keyboard
8.) NO camera
9.) available till Summer 2003

Will SONY do that?

You are asking for a different model. If sony came out with that they would also have a TG50-type model. The TG50 is supposed to have a keyboard instead of a graffiti area. If you want high-res+, get an NX60 and put it in tablet mode.

true. I ask for a new model. I thought the TG-50 would be it. But it didn't fulfill my requirements. :(

The NX60 got built-in Bluetooth?

Sorry, mate, but they built this one for me. Keyboard instead of graffitti is my reason for buying my first 'palm'.

The 4 light spots are actually comforting because they indicate a much more robust backlight technology that my last PDA, whose backlight tube failed twice after a minor drop.

1) ?!? come on.. those few mm
2) use Graffiti Anywhere 1.4
3) use it and you will get used to it
4) they don't bother me. the screen - esp. the colors are awesome!
5) why not os5? do you miss something?

I have upgrade from a Palm m100 - and I like this screen! Of course, bigger is always better... ;-)

I have missed it, too and now I use Jot (TealScript does nor work properly). I like the combination of keyboard and Jot.

But the keyboard layout is definitively designed be people who do not use foreign characters!

<sarcasm> I want a clie the size of the TG-50 but with 15" screen. It would be nice to also have Bluetooth, WiFi, SD slot, and CF Slot. Oh yeah, can they make the batter last longer than the TG-50 too</sarcasm>
