Xiino not working anymore?

Is Xiino still working? I knew mobirus had shut down its servers and gone offline... I installed xiino anyways and when I try to browse the web (any webpage)... it displays "unrecoverable error"....

Is there a way to make xiino work?

maybe server is down, its the first time it has been down this long.

I hope they get it back up

Xiino is the ONLY reason I'm still with Palm (now on Centro). I hope this "Unrecoverable error" message is resolved soon!

The Hi-Res version of Xiino has worked great on my Centro. I use it with WEME 5.72.

Is there a trick to setting WEME 5.72 up ?
I use the treo 600 because it will hold 20000 contacts, ( no picture with each contact , so it runs faster on a word search in the contacts, the treo 750 takes 4 mins to get to my contacts that start with z , the treo gets there in 10 seconds with 14,000 contacts)

Do you think the WEME 5.72. will run on the treo 600. if so how do you install it ? and if not how do you install it on the Centro.

ps still unrecoverable error on the Xiino ...argg... back to blazer no ahh no blazer torture .do I smell an iphone squeeze, .....Swishing my finger on the screen , no keyboard, with no sd slot , who makes a device like that?, back up is the first lesson in computing. apple what are you thinking

Yes, Opera Mini 4.2 works excellent with WEME 5.72--though nowhere close to Xiino. I'm going to try the Opera Mini ver. 5, which hasn't been released for Palm--but you can use JAR2PRC functionality of WEME to make it Palm-compatible.

Xiino will be sorely missed.

WEME 5.72 was the last ver. of WEME, after which both Palm and IBM stopped supporting it. Google it, and you should be able to get it (or I'll post a link here). It should work with Treo 600, and so should Opera Mini 4.2 (I'm going to try OM 5).

Palm Pre's browser is excellent, and the phone is much better than iPhone--both in capability, price, and keyboard. But it's not yet available on GSM network. I'll wait for the new Pixi, which hopefully should come on ATT next year.

Life sucks without Xiino! I'll have to make do with Opera Mini.

Opera mini 4.2 + WEME 5.7.2 on a treo 680 works well
Opera mini 4.2 + WEME 5.7.1 works fine on a TX (weme 5.7.1 better on the tx than 5.7.2)

Now Xiino does not required java.... and you were able to download stuff while surfing... maybe if one changes the DataServer the "Unrecoverable error" disapears... but to what DataServer?

After to investigate the subject and to undergo several alternatives with my Treo 680, such as Hard RESET, and after with unique installation of one of these programs, changing and creating new configurations of Network, but the problem follows without solution, that is to say in Xiino I only can unload HTML Text information Without Images (in Preferences option download images is disabled) and in TabiVideo appl. also media files are not unloaded from its proxy server from www.tabitek.com to see compressed files from sites like to www.youtube.com, google.com, mySpace, etc… Maybe bug can be some firewall in Mozilla Firefox v3.5.3 Browser or some Troyan Virus that has damaged perhaps the ROM or the SIM Card of my Treo 680. Hopefully it soon appears the cause and solution to the problem.

YES XIino v3.41E works without downloading IMAGES on my Treo 680. For this in Options Preferences leave disabled download images.. Very Luck

Temporary to view videos use Kinoma Player or through youtube mobile using Blazer.

I changed my SIM card--still the same problem. Also, in my case, I haven't used PDANet for a long time. Also, I have not run HotSync for a long time. Kinoma is fine. But I want Xiino back with images. Let's keep trying different options and share our experiences. Thanks!

Hi, I had been using Xiino 3.4.1J fine on my Treo 700p, but now suffering from "Unrecoverable error" like you guys.

Actually, before I noticed this, I got trouble with a Japanese language gateway service called PalmGate, which should work with Blaser browser, was not wroking.

These two issues combied, I am suspicious that Sprint changed some network settings which prevents these applications working properly with servers in Japan.

Which carriers do you use?

Ok, confirmed. Xiino works WITHOUT loading images. Go to menu>pref>Load Text only located in page 1/3 in prefs.

That said, the problem IS the DataServer apparently. According to Xiino Help, that's used to load images. I assume that pds.mobirus.com is an image server? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_server). So, to get images back... can we use a different image server? which one?

UPDATE: Dataserver = Image Proxy Server. So, pds.mobirus.com was an Image Proxy Server. Can we use a different Image Proxy Server to load images in Xiino again?

Thank you, thank you THANK YOU!! I read this post and after trying it with images enabled, I am looking at pictures too!! I really missed not using xiino for graphics and was very sad to think something had gone to make it work. I've even installed Opera with hope, which it is for certain sites and will prolly keep it. But now, I am so happy xiino is working again.

Thanks to everyone who posted help and questions to get it going again. And I thought I was the only one going through withdrawls. :)

I 've noted that Xiino is able to load image only om www.1src.com/forums site.
I've tried to load other web sites without success. :(

It's seems Xinno is working only for some web site.

Xiino working in www.brighthand.com, www.tealpoint.com.
Xiino not working in www.palminfocenter.com, www.palmgear.com.

Mybe it's related with image type format?

It's working with images... some site it wouldn't load (the whole page) but at least you don't the error message like before when u enable images...
