Import NX70V desktop data to TH55

Who would have thought this would be difficult? I've been trying for hours to get my old data working on a newly-bought TH55. Can somebody step me through this in baby steps, because I've tried everything I can think of, including using the Palm Migration tool (which says it can't find a valid 'users.dat' file.
I've just un-installed EVERTHING related to Palm Clie software on my computer and re-installed ONLY the desktop using a different username. It opens OK with no errors.
If I copy my 'address.dat' file into the 'address' folder, Desktop says "Error: Failed to open Address Book database.

Can anybody PLEASE help me here? I really don't want to re-type every contact and calendar item by hand...

IR each contact one at a time to the TH-55.

Or copy and paste each contact on the Palm Desktop to the TH-55 or

Get Google, they have a contact section and first copy and paste...

Or get rid of contacts that you haven't used in a long time....

Did you know in Los Angeles people have advertised their service to transfer data to the Palm Pre? Maybe you can hire someone to do it for you?

I have 'beamed' my contacts successfully. There doesn't seem to be a way to beam ALL calendar entries, though.. only one at a time. Still.. I'm now in a far better position than I was.
