WL100 with NX70V/E

Is anyone using an NX70V/E (european version) with a WL100?

I'm about to get a WL100 card, but I'm slightly concerned that no WLAN related updates have appeared on the european support site http://www.clie-link.com/uk/updates.asp?ID=884&submenu=updates.asp&mainmenu=compatibility.asp (the US site has the CLIÉ Handheld System Patch update and the PEGA-WL100 Driver Update).

I guess that these updates are needed for healthy functioning of the NX with a WL100. On the other hand, I'm not sure about installing the US patches from a compatibility viewpoint.

Sony haven't answered a mail I sent a week ago

Any experiences so far?

It should still work, the newer driver added the ability to see the MAC address after it's connected. If your connecting to an 802.11b wireless device it shouldn't matter.

Hi Larry,

Do you mean it should still work without the driver, or the driver should still work? Whichever way, I'm looking to avoid the dreaded hard reset scenario. So far so good, touch wood.

Hi banjo,
I am using a European clie with a WL100 card I ordered in Hong Kong; it was the Japanese version (drivers in japanese and english). It worked very well with these drivers; I also added the US updates and everything also worked well (these updates add 2 improvements: ability to display the MAC address and compatibility with some access points)

Yes, you need the WL100 driver, sorry if I confused you, I sometimes confuse myself :D.

Some drivers work on all models, some are region specific. One example is the MS Pro driver that has to be for the right model.
