Hello,
Just got my NX70 and have a question on pattern of charging the battery to preserve its life.
What is the most effective pattern in charging the battery to maintain its life? I did my first charge (~4 hrs), and now down to about 30%. I want to recharge it but worry about may messing up the cycle if I don't let it get lower.
Any thought is greatly appreciated.
Best,
John

Not to worry, the battery has it's own electronic circuitry to protect it. There is NO memory effect and frequent charging will NOT hurt it, but in fact will help it. Deep discharging will slightly shorten it's useful lifespan.

I had this same question . I am at my desk a lot during the day with the CLIE in the cradle and charger plugged in. I notice that it will fully charge, I will take it off for a few minutes and may turn it one once or twice. When I put it back it starts to charge again.
This does not hurt the battery?
Thanks,
Manny

That is correct! The battery is microprocessor controlled. I have taken some Lithium cellular phone batteries apart and you wouldn't believe the amount of electronics that are in the thing. In other words they are well protected, so you don't have to worry. Batteries like to be exercised, and they are designed to be topped off constantly. Somewhere in the Sony manual it tells you that it's okay, although I have had so many manuals, I can't tell you which one.
Number one battery killer, never-never leave a battery discharged for any long length of time!
