Updates to 3.20b3 include:

1) Added support for directly opening ISilo and WordSmith documents even ISilo/WordSmith is stored in /Palm/Launcher/ directory of the expansion card(Currently only supports the first expansion card).

2) Added presets for creating ISilo/WordSmith document tab in New Tab form.

3) Changed the internal implementation of "disable the support for Attention Indicator", which should be more stable.

The WordSmith doc features work great, returning to ZL after finishing with the launched document. Another ZZTech home run!

What I meant was changes to b3 to make b4, making it updates to b3. That also implies that updates up to and including b3 are not included in the list.

Hmm... doesn't seem to be availbale right now from PalmGear. The link for the download is broken. Maybe they've removed it?

Has this been requested by anyone yet?:
Allow for the "Category" function in the Bottom Bar like it is in the Top Bar.
I would like to run ZL with only a "perfectly" configured Bottom Bar, no tabs nor Top Bar.

Good deal. A problem I was just about to email the author about was that when I used the file manager/info to change the category of apps, I would get a soft reset as I exited to ZLauncher. Seems to be fixed with this latest beta.

It will open the iSilo doc ONLY if it is in RAM.

Wow! What a great update. Ive been looking forward to this for a while. My Wordsmith tab works great now, and I can launch any document right from its icon.

Now to make it all perfect, Zlauncher MUST add seperate category support. In other words, we need to be ablet o customize each tab, or category seperatly. For an instance, I would like to have my WordSmith docs tab displayed in the list view, and have my Main apps tab viewed like normal icons.

I dont want to have to change my view to list each time I go to my Wordsmith tab. I really hope Zlauncher can add this feature.

Another thing is that Zlauncher could add to make things better is instead of the prc icon showing for the Wordsmith tab docs or Isilo docs, they should make all the items in those categorys with the icons of the program. The Wordsmith docs in the tab should have the icon of the wordsmith program.

One last thing that Zlauncher needs to add is support for hacks. They need to make a tab that can launch hacks in TealMaster or X-Master just like how they do it with Wordsmith and Isilo.

Im sure I wont have to wait long to see all this come true.

While waiting for this feature, you can use hacklink to create direct shortcuts to your hacks. (it is a freeware)

Yes, I requested it some time back and they said that there was not enough space on the bottom bar for this without having to reconstruct the skins. This is something that they are trying to stay away from.

Thanks for the link. I saw the file last night on PalmGear but it must have been too late for my brain to work. For some reason I thought Li had just uploaded the prc file and that's what I was looking for. After re-reading Li's email I realized my mistake.

This is sooo awesome. Launching docs from the launcher.... seems like it's taken over the main feature I admired of LX. Way to go ZZ techs.

I still get a rendering problem when switching to "detail view": the icons and text from the "list view" can be seen under the table header (of course, only for those themes that have some space between columns in the header -- like BandiT's themes).

Sounds like a theme-specific issue vice a ZL issue. I have no problems with CopperDeckII or the provided Aquawood theme.

I thought so too the first time I noticed it, but it happens with more than one theme. CopperDeckII doesn't leave any space between columns in the table header in detail view. But themes such as Emmanuel, Xav, etc. from BandiT or the Zoopie theme do.

I don't create ZL themes, so I can't really say who should take care of this (the theme or ZL).

That really sucks, I have huge isilo docs on the card and would love to open them via Zlauncher (this is the only feature I miss from LX) Anyone know if they will impliment the LX method of opening Isolo/DTG files in the future?

The other new features work GREAT!

Neither Isilo nor Wordsmith docs will launch off an expansion card, correct?

If this is the case, I can't do much with this feature... All of my Wordsmith docs and Isilo docs are on my memory stick...

Or...am I doing something wrong?

You are correct and I have asked the question. Of course, they are well aware. The problem isn't w/ZLauncher, but with the apps themselves that don't load files from the MS through command-line arguments, or the developers haven't documented the method for doing so.

Don't know what else to tell you. I just passed on what I was told. Perhaps Benc got something out of BlueNomad that Li hasn't yet.

I deleted my WS doc tab after testing it because without categorization, it wasn't very useful to me. I have way too many docs for uncategorized access. YMMV.

LX is able to launch Doc To Go, Wordsmith, Isolo docs from card directly. LX also allows the user to specify the directory in which the docs are stored. These features would be a great improvement to ZL, or maybe I'll wait for the next LX version...

Could be nice to have and do not forget to add a breadmaker/a toaster and a vaccuum cleaner, but with so many "features" the app will become so bloated that it will be a time bomb, unmanageable to boot.

Agree, but in my opinion these features relate to the primary function of a launcher - ability to find and launch what you want in as few taps and as quickly as possible. To me it's worth more than all the "dressing up" features. ZL can slow down on these IMHO...

this latest beta is stable. I had some issues with earlier betas (particularly 3.20 b1) but have yet to have a problem with this one.

3.20 adds support for creating tabs for launching Wordsmith and iSilo files that are in RAM. It also added support for manual sorting. this was my most desired feature from LX. This feature makes it so much easier to launch apps using the jog dial. I just order my apps in each tab according to how much I use them so the most used apps allow for the quickest access via jog dial.

Agreed. I love ZL but I must agree with you there are too many bells and whistles. It is a GREAT app with a tremedous level of support from the developpers, but I also feel sometimes that cosmetics have taken priority over the core functions.
