Any idea what this is????

I got this off eBay a while ago and it's an odd one. It looks to be a Palm LifeDrive and powers on... but never boots... it weights a little less than a normal LifeDrive and has no serial number. (I compared with with my other LifeDrive.)

Any ideas??? Was this a floor model or something? :confused:

The serial number on the back of the LD comes on a clear plastic sticker separate from the Palm and Made In China markings. This has probably been removed.

The HD inside may be removed which explains the lighter weight and failure to boot.

Could be good for parts?

It is a LifeDrive. As LDuser said the serial number stuff comes off after awhile. I wonder if the battery is missing? That is probably the heaviest component. ??

Re the serial number: I got a refurb unit from Palm some time back (which seems to have just died), and the serial number was printed onto the back of the case with some sort of ink that just plain rubbed off within a handful of weeks. :rolleyes:
