Hi there,

Does anyone know of some street map software that I can use to view maps on my Zire 72 without having to use some sort of GPS dongle? I don't feel I need GPS.

I walk around the city I live in a lot and I carry a Zire 72 with me mostly everywhere I go. I often carry a little A to Z street map book as well. If I could have some street maps loaded in my Palm then that would be one less thing to carry!

Any ideas?
Cheers!

One of the basic options could be MapView (http://www.indevsoftware.com/products/palm/mapview/). It can handle big bitmap pictures easily.

why not scan a map and use it with any picture viewer like rescoview and the like? plus most maps are available in JPG or PNG format on the net, like OSM maps.

but using a gps mouse IS a lot better :)

I think that is a great idea. The scrolling/resizing would be very smooth with ProViewer, for instance.

I use the iold discontinued mapopolis program and can even get turn by turn listings and NO GPS needed - can search for addresses and integrates for mapping of addresses with Agendus
