Looks like we registered users will have to wait until Mike emails it to us though, unless we want to buy it again.

Only complaint I have about McPhling is that there is no option to automatically reenable it automatically after a soft reset

?!? McPhling always asked if you want to reenable after soft reset...
And with the new version it was changed to:
There is no longer
an "enable McPhling" form after a reset. If McPhling was enabled before
reset, it will automatically be enabled afterwards.
Perfect I would say ;)

It was. Especially the "OS5 native arm codebug" was annoying. (lauching mcphling from hotsync screen via button -> fatal alert). But it was fixed according to the author...

Version 5.20 (for Palm OS 5.x) and 4.40 (for Palm OS 3.x and 4.x) of "McPhling" have been released which add many features and fixes a number of issues.
The issues addressed and the changes are as follows:
* Press and Hold option now available for button/keyboard. With this option enabled, pressing a key will not invoke McPhling but pressing and holding will. Note that due to the variety of hardware, this feature may not work with your device.
* When the activation form is open McPhling is now disabled.
* In the activation form the button/keyboard list now includes the following:
o Silk: Alpha Keyboard
o Silk: Numeric Keyboard
o Palm: Silk Clock
o Palm: Silk Brightness
* Fixed some minor incompatibilities with Palm's 5-Way Navigator. This includes the exclusion of using the 5-Way Select as a custom button, due to compatibility issues.
* Made some very minor cosmetic changes.
* Made some OS 5 specific changes and fixes:
o Fixed a bug that would crash the device if the McPhling application list was invoked using a button or keyboard while a native ARM application (such as HotSync) was running. This fixes a number of instability issues while using a button or keyboard.
o There is no longer an "enable McPhling" form after a reset. If McPhling was enabled before reset, it will automatically be enabled afterwards.
o Changes in the McPhling main form are automatically applied. You no longer need to exit McPhling in order for the changed to come into effect.
Cheers

Got my email yesterday. New version works great on my T665C, OS 4.1.

I did a reset and you are correct:) Very cool as I think this has been the #1 complaint:)

This release also apparently fixes the conflict I was having with using the jog wheel within TealDoc. When using any of the hardware options to activate McPhiling (even if it wasn't the jog wheel), TealDoc used to close and dump me out to the launcher whenever I tried to use the jog wheel. It works fine now though...

Perfect I would say ;) Yay! That was very annoying.
UPDATE: I'm having problems with activation via a silk button:
* If I choose the silk Menu button, it just pops up McPhling whether I tap or hold (even though "Hold" is checked). In other words, I can't use it as the standard silk Menu button any longer.
* When I tried to use the silk Find button, it would still only function as Find no matter what I did. Same with the silk Calculator button.
Anyone else having these problems?
Also, "silk" is misspelled "slik" for the first two items in the Activation selection window. :)

When I posted the link, there wasn't a link to download on Palmgear, only to purchase. I did download it this morning. I purchased McPhling several months ago. It's a great app, well worth supporting Mike for developing it.:)

Gotcha:cool:
It was pretty painless upgrade for OS4.1. Just diabled the version 4.31 in X-Master and installed the version 4.4 over the 4.31. I like this kind of upgrade, especially with only 2K larger footprint.

Do you have the silk:find button programed under apps and diable back option. Mine works fine this way.

I can't hotsync with McPhling activated...crashes on my NR70...even if it's the only hack.

I've noticed my hotsync is slower to start on my NR, since installing the update, but it still does hotsync.

Hmmm. Doesn't affect Hotsync on my T665C. I'm using it under X-Master 1.5 and have that set to disable hacks on Hotsync.
Same here, no problem. I put a check on 'Disable During HotSync' of X-Master 1.5 Preferences. Actually I checked all three on the list, including 'Hack-Master Style' and 'Auto-Restore After Reset'.
The v.4.40 hard button hold option is certainly a good addition. I ended up changing from the stylus swipes to 'Up' and 'Down' button hold for McPhling activation. These options are not available in EasyLaunch 0.15. Now I can assign the old McPhling activation stylus swipe (from 'App' to 'Menu' and 'Menu' to 'App') from launching two new apps with EasyLaunch.

I don't elect to "disable during hotsync" in XMaster because it causes a crash when I use Quicksync DA. Probably because my DA launcher is a hack.

That would do it. ;)
