I am trying to make my TX last until the PRE is available at Verizon and need to change the digitizer. I purchased a glass digitizer and tools to change it. I watched two videos and can't seem to see how to disconnect the cable connector from the motherboard. The one video is so out of focus and the guy's hands are in the way and the other guy doesn't even show this step. Does anyone know how to do this? I know it must be very easy, but I'm afraid of breaking something.

The other thing that I need is the flip over cover for the display that comes with a new one. I can't see where I can purchase a replacement. I looked at PDAParts and they don't have it.

Don't you mean the connections to the back of the LCD display? The motherboard connections just pull off. The slightly tricky ones are the two tiny ones which connect the digitiser to the display. To release these you need to pull up the tiny white plastic u-shaped bits to be at right angles to the display. Then the digitiser connections just pull out. Good luck. The TX with a glass digitiser is much better.

For a good video to see how to take a TX apart try the follwing address/link:-

Just search for "palm tx flip cover" and you'll find a number of sources.

Don't want to damage connectors so I'm trying not to force them too much. What's the trick to lifting them up at a right angle? I've been trying to push the connector in from the new digitizer but it's too flimsy to click in by itself.

Thanks for any help.

On the back of a TX screen there is a small connector with a locking hinge. You just push the hinge up to unlock the ribbon to the digitizer.
The ribbon should slide in and out very easily with little resistance. Once the new ribbon is in place move the hinge back down to lock the ribbon in place.
