When Sprint users purchase the Palm Pre, they will be required to upgrade their existing plans to an "Everything" Plan. People like me who have a 400 minute plan shared with my girlfriend with unlimited data on only one line for about $90/month will have to cough up $129/month for the Everything Data Shared Plan instead.

Don't have an iPhone, but have heard the 'data' plan for the iPhone is equally obscene. Part of this is the constant web awareness of both smartphones (I guess). If the need of the unit is constant use of the web, you're going to be using a lot more than 400 minutes a month :(

I strongly urge that people considering getting a Pre check out the link that blues posted. Some companies subsidize a discount with Sprint. Interesting that some Credit union members can also qualify for a discount.

However here is a link about a method you certainly wouldn't dare try..
