Hi,
Not worth the read.
Why? it was a typical "first look" article, thin on facts but a few quick observations.
Now, I did catch on how the writer did not care for the keyboard but did also praise the screen as second in quality to the Iphone, ahead of the G1.
Maybe those are the reasons for it not being worth the read?
I would hope anyone looking to buy the Pre makes their own judgment on whether to buy it and not on what other people have to say about it.
It is your money, do the research, go to Sprint, Walmart, or Best buy and play with the darn thing but please do not be swayed by others when it is YOUR money being spent.

My hunch was correct about the "plasticky" feel of the Pre (I'm betting the Pre will feel like the Palm m series). Not a surprise also that a hardware keyboard would have that problem.
I'm inclined to think that the Pre will be a "test" unit for even better webOS devices. The EOS looks promising ... the less moving parts, the better.

And we've had this discussion before on this board .......... because most of the people on this board do their own research most of us did not learn anything from this BG review. Secondly, much of what was said was subjective in nature. Finally, at the same time he is reporting on nothing we did not already know, there are other reports (in non-obvious places) regarding new elements/functions not previously outlined.
Because you do your own research, I leave it up to you to find the sources for those new elements.

It will come down to screen size versus no moving parts. It'll be a personal decision. As far as the feel goes ......... unless they've changed the material from the public pictures, it looks just like my Pro ......... black, shiny, smooth. Again, a personal thing.
DennisOS2, your last two posts are much better compared to the one-liner earlier. It's much clearer.

I think its a personel matter regarding the keyboard. I'm a current Centro user and I got to believe the Pre's keyboard is better. Also assuming this is an iPhone user doing the review, I can also see him having a issue with a plastic phone as compared to the glass and metal feel of the iPhone. I also think the lite weight has something to do with that opinion. I agree people will be surprised to see how small the Pre is (closed) as compared to other phones.

Why would you assume the person in the article is an "Iphone" user and minimize his opinion because of this?
Sounds a little dismissive.

Are you stating that one's perspective does not color one's opinion, reporting, or beliefs? Or just on certain sides of issues? Now, who is being dismissive.
Just a suggestion to read and consider the entire post. i believe it was stated towards the beginning that, again, it is a personal thing. Most of the BGR review was 'personal'.

Hi,
I am saying the reviewer and his opinion should not have been easily dismissed as, "Oh, he is just an Iphone user".
People can be objective on things, even if they use another product beside the one being reviewed.
You appear to be posting something in direct opposition to most of my posts regarding the Pre, is there a problem with me not being enamored with this product?
There will be and are a lot of people who are not feeling this is a product for them.
I say, it may be you who is being dismissive.
Not every potential customer will feel the love for the Pre, fact of life, and are entitled to post their opinion and not have it dismissed.
Anyways, I think I will back off posting more on the Pre till it gets released.

Again, please consider posts in their entirety and all the posts. I don't know that BG is an iPhone junky. His post is meaningless because it was almost entirely subjective impressions with absolutely no new information. I learn nothing from that whether it is positive or negative. That is the reason I am dismissive .............. and that's OK.
