Hi, folks --
Is there a way to upgrade the Palm desktop to 4.2 without completely hacking your system? I've tried it in the past on an older system but always ended up with Synch problems.

I'd really like to take advantage of some newer applications that want to use Palm desktop 4.2. Right now, I'm using a Windows XP machine and a Clie N610C, using the latest Sony-version of Palm software from the Sony site.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
What worked for me was to download the latest Sony Desktop 4.1 from the Sony site. It says it's only for NX series Clies, but it works fine on my Windows XP box and my N610C. I did have Palm Desktop 4.0S (Sony version) installed. It just installed right over it.

No problems with it at all.
