Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if its possible to change the system sounds on the clie NZ90? I've been looking on the web, but it tells me that palmOS 5 doesn't support hacks.. is there another way around this?

Thanks :)

FYI -

I am hoping that Techsounds updates soon.

What is available are varieties of "alarm sounds" that have various themes. There is also an app that makes a sound for "cradle-in / cradle-out".

I think part of the problem is that a few compilers have not updated to PalmOS 5.x, that PalmOS 5.x sounds are a little flakey as far as the internal stuff (thus PalmOS 6.x), and that the Sony version may be a little proprietary.

I use AlarmMaster (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=1&jid=X2X4D2FBE2333C5675F8788C8X8964B3&productId=8692&optionId=1_1_2&productType=2&catalog=1&txtSearch=alarmmaster&sectionId=0&platformId=1) and various collections of polyphonic alarms on my NX70V. See also this thread on ringtones (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14733&highlight=ringtone) as another source of alarms.

I just re-read your post and you seemed to believe that since it was reported that PalmOS 5.x does not support hacks ... that therefore that necessarily means something in particular.

TealMaster supports a number of "hacks' on PalmOS 5.x . A number of what were "hacks" are coming out in standalone versions or even as "DAs".

PS - Also a "Bird-of-Prey" can fire when cloaked, especially if it is good for the plotline or bottomline.

Yes, but there ARE hacks for 'older' Clies that do change the sounds . . . Techsounds hack being one of them ~ I think that's what he was referring to.  And SOME hacks DO work on OS5, but only with TealMaster.
