i think sync always make trouble. so i open those files ,which i want to tranfer to pc. then transfer them via MS card reader.

is there anyone agree with me?

You can use the card reader to install apps. HotSyncing maybe necessary if you use some desktop applications for the Clie. If everything is running right, it should not be a problem to HotSync.

I sort of agree with you. BUT if you are playing with some of the apps that have their own install programs, it is not easy to to avoid the "sync" process.

For example, some of the Sony update files transfer in a form that ends up as an "install" format, rather than a working app. Even if you direct them to the MemoryStick through the normal install utility, they will NOT work.

They only work if installed to RAM via the normal "sync" process.

Of course then there are those of us who back the result up. We can then transfer back through card reader or MSExport/MSImport or SyncWizard.
