Hi Alan,
I have checked for the latest podcast but it doesn't appear to be available yet. Has the link changed?

Hi Alan,
I have checked for the latest podcast but it doesn't appear to be available yet. Has the link changed?

Which version of the podcast: the standard .mp3 version (available using the podcast feed link here on 1SRC.com) or the enhanced .m4a version (available using the podcast feed link from SmartphoneFanatics.com)? As far as I know, both versions are working normally in iTunes as of Sunday night.

No sign of it in Juice.

If you are not crazy about gadget sliders, why did you go thru all those Tungsten models? I have a Centro now and look forward to the bigger screen of the Pre and hope the slider keyboard is not going to be an issue.

Also I think the new Palm netbook should be "instant on".

This podcast has yet to show up in iTunes. Thanks.

Still can't pull it using Juice.

Did you really upload an unrestricted mp3 Alan?

Edit:
I just pulled it manually using the mp3 link in the article. PITA!

It's not available in the RSS feed listed in the article either. Only the direct download link works apparently.

Same here, even subscribed to the enhanced feed (iTunes) and was only provided with show #209. Going to just listen to it from the direct MP3 link via the PC. :(

I wonder if transcripts of the podcasts can be made available also?

Hey folks. Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you. Allow me to take care of the business items first.

I have no idea what is going on the 1SRC podcast feed for the regular .mp3 file. I just double-checked the article in the content management system and it doesn't look like I've done anything obviously wrong when I posted the show. I've emailed Reggie asking him to look into the feed as I don't have direct access to such things.

I also checked the enhanced podcast feed over at SmartphoneFanatics.com. There was a problem over then when my hosting company was messing with server upgrades and the .m4a MIME type got squashed so the feed stopped working. I've had them correct the problem and republished the enhanced podcast feed.

I just checked both feeds from my computer at work. The 1SRC feed is broken for some reason. The SmartphoneFanatics feed is working normally, but, I did notice that in iTunes, show 210 shows up at the bottom of the list, not above show 209. Go figure.

The direct links are:

I went through all of those sliders because I'm a Palm wingnut! :)

By the time I upgrade from the Tungsten T3 to the T5, I was done with sliders. I ended up grabbing the Palm and opening the slider as soon as I grabbed the stylus. I never used the Palm with the slider closed. Then there was the floppy slider issues along with the lost screw issues. Oh, and don't forget the lose display/digitizer cable issues. It just seemed like there was so little utility from the slider with a lot of places where the slider could break down.

The Pre might be different, every time I pull out my Treo 750 or BlackBerry, I'm always using the keyboard and I can see myself always sliding up the Pre display when I go to use it.

Oh, and yes, and Palm netbook/Foleo/Foleo-like device should have instant on. That would be really nice. I can put my Dell mini 9 to sleep, but the battery still runs down quickly even in sleep mode.

Sorry Bill, the TX with PocketTunes won't play the enhanced podcast .m4a file. You'll need iTunes or and iPhone/iPod for that.

I wonder if transcripts of the podcasts can be made available also?

As suggested in the April 2 How Would You Change 1SRC thread, I have started making the podcast transcripts available. Check out post #2 in this thread for the Podcast 210 transcript .pdf link. (This is also an "unsupported" feature that I've taken on. Reggie has no linkage for the enhanced podcast feed or the transcripts.)

I guess they are. Margins have been so razor thin from the Centro that Palm really needs to put some cash in the bank. It looks like new Pre owners will spend $200 while existing Sprint customers like myself will get the Pre for $300. I'll take a 70% discount. Seems like steal when you put in those terms.

I dont believe that the $999.99 amount is real. Hope we finally find out when the Pre is coming out on Tuesday morning!

Alan, Did you see those giant Pre's during Sprint All-Star race on Saturday on Speed TV?

Pretty funny to see, but they were center stage!

I'm sorry if this has been discussed before; I ran a search but found nothing. I can download the podcast on iTunes on my Mac, but cannot download it on my iPhone over wifi. On the iPhone, the podcast almost fully downloads, but gives an error message as it is wrapping up. Does anyone have a solution to this persistent problem.

TIA!

Programming Note:

I'm traveling for work during the back half of this week and I'm not sure I'll have to pull together a show for this weekend. I'll do my best to have something up for Monday.
