Hi everyone!

I know of this little program that allows one to make mp3 playlists so that play songs the way you wanted, one after the other.

You can make albums and arrange tracks as you want. Afterwards you can play them with the app.

The only disadvantage is that you cannot play those albums with the included AudioPlayer. Also, no other buttons, other than play, stop and volume control, are present with MP3 Manager v1.0. However, one can still use AudioControlDA for other controls such as forward, backward, seek, etc.

Enjoy!:D

I'm sorry but I didn't quite remember where I got it. :( I just found the app recently when I was doing backups.

It must have been from one of those Japanese sites I strayed into. :p

Yes the same thing happened to me. Search google for it or I will post it in the files section. But it's half a piece of crap because you can't pause it.

That's why I mentioned to use AudioControlDA for such controls. I needed an app to arrange tracks and MP3 Manager does just that.

I didn't like the way the AudioPlayer plays the files out of order. After folling around a while I verified what it is doing. Windows does not store files in sorted order, even though they are displayed that way. AudioPlayer plays the files in the order in which they are actually copied to the CLIE. I verified this by writing a program that shows the actual stored order of the MP3 files. The same program copies the files in that order to the CLIE. They are played in that order. I then changed the program to sort the file names (01-, 02-, etc.) and copy them in thatr order. They now play in the numerical sorted order.

OK. Is this an app anyone can use?

sure... It's kinda tacky and thrown together pretty quickly. EMail me and I'll send you a copy if you want it. I might just take the time to polish it up if there's enough interest.

I can't seem to find this elusive Mp3 Manager v1.0 program anywhere. Abe124, could you post it somewhere or email it to me? Maybe you could even attach it to a post, it that's not against a rule. It sounds like the programs free/shareware, right? Also, gkas, that program would be great if abe124's doesn't work out.

This is on the CD that comes with the T665 [perhaps others?].  It's in a subfolder called MP3Mgr under the CLIE folder.  Here's the readme:

MP3 Manager - Organize and play your favorite MP3 files
---------------------------------------------------------------
v1.0 2002-04-12

NOTE:
Use of this application is not supported by Sony Electronics.
  Use at your own risk.

1. Requirements
---------------
  * Palm OS v4.0 or greater
  * Clie handheld with built-in MP3 playing capability

2. Installation
---------------
  Install MP3Mgr.prc to the device.

3. Steps of Typical Usage
--------
  1. Insert a Memory Stick with MP3 songs into your Clie handheld.
  2. Launch MP3Mgr and create albums.
  3. Go back to Launcher and select the card from the categories .
  4. Tap on the icon of album you want to listen to, the icon of the selected
album then indicates the playing status.
  5. Tap on the icon of playing album to stop it or play another album by
tapping on a different album icon.

4. Uninstallation
-----------------
  Delete MP3Mgr.prc, MamLaunch.prc, MamStopper.prc and mam-cache.pdb from your
  device.

5. Limitations and Known Issues
-------------------------------
  * Playing albums is not possible when the device's batteries are low.  If batteries
are low while playing an album, playback will stop without warning.

  * Certain methods of stopping an album during playback (eg. resetting the device or
ejecting the Memory Stick), will cause that album's icon in the launcher to remain
in the "playing" status.  Tapping on the icon again will return the icon to the
    correct status.

  * If the album contains too many songs, the loading/saving process may be extremely slow.

6. Revision History
-------------------
  1.0 (2002-04-15)
    * initial release

Not anyone can upload to the files section, only mods have the right to do so. :( As I've said I don't have any link to give other than Google. I do remember now that I got the app from the T615 installation CD before I upgraded to the T665. I cannot find it anywhere in my T665 installation CD, btw. For those interested please provide an email address here or a pm so I could mail it to you!

Mp3 Manager works great on an SJ30/SA10, but the lack of basic track navigation is a bit of an oversight.

I've tried using AudioControlDA like some of you guys have, but it keeps crashing with a fatal exception. Anbody got it working on this hardware?

Ta,

GOO

P.S. Thanks to utahjazz85 for emailing the file! :)

Why SHOULD he have done that in the first place???  To make your life easier?  It would have been convenient, but it doesn't take much effort to find it yourself.  There's Palm software outside of Palmgear, ya know!

Instead of whining about it you could have found and posted a link yourself like so many other helpful people have done here.  And even if you didn't post a link, you didn't have to be an a$$hole about it.  But you were and that's your right.

You might want to keep that dogma on a leash!

you really dont need other softeware audio player will play the files in the order you want them. you can rearange the songs on the playlist just click on a song and press either the up or down button to move song to the location of your choice.

Hate to say it but read manual and pay attention.

Meeehhn, what an outdated thread.

At the time I posted I have had a NR70 and there was no option like reorder available. Yeah, once upon a time, before any kind of upgrade existed.
