Are we going to be able to skin this WebOS? :D
What you guys think? Will it be necessary? Maybe only the programs being developed will have the option to do this. But i wouldnt mind having the ability to modify the main images of the OS itself. Windows never came with a clear option to skin it, yet it could be expanded; same happened to Palm OS5.
You guys know my hobby is skinning this kind of stuff  thats why i want to know what you guys expect ;)
Ps. gosh i miss these forums... ive been busy with uni and forgot Palm after a while (i soooo miss the smileys  :) :D  :p :o :( ) lol

Yup yup, I saw in a video that it was said you can skin WebOS and I was happy to know Palm wasn't going to pull an Apple on us and keep us locked with their skin only. I can't find the video but here is an article helping say that it is able to be skin at Ars Technica. Have not seen any of the videos, but I would imagine that it would be easier to skin than previous OSes.
Should only require a CSS and any related images.

that is what you need to skin YOUR app. To skin the OS you need to hack the code, which will be hard since they do not even allow developers any real programming languages. (javascript is joke, sorry, get over it)

Maybe, and based on your knowledge of PalmOS you are probably right.
I am likely guilty of generializing it too much, but when I think in terms of HTML/JavaScript/CSS, my mind defaults back to my expierence with web-app development and such.
In the web-dev I've done, we've typically defined a top-level CSS for the overall look-n-feel of the site, then defined more page-level specific CSSes for specific needs of a given tool/page; taking advantage of how CSS styles are extendable/stackable. To change the over-all look of the site, we can just change out the top-level CSS.
IF Palm follows a simular structure, and IF they allow their top-level CSS to be changed, MAYBE that could work as skinning. (Disclaimer: The previous statement is chopped full of wild speculation that is based entirely upon my hopes and expectations of how an HTML-based system should be built. It has no foundation in anything actually close to what may or may not have been released by Palm, their partners, or the blog-osphere. :D )
Of course, if not, those "IF"s and "MAYBE"s become what you mention about hacking the code.
