Hi...
This seems to be a stupid and simplistic question, but I canīt find how to make my NX70V to work as an alarm clock.
Iīve tried to put an appointment (alarmed) on the Calendar, but to no avail.
I hope thereīs an native Clie program (or POS5 program) that do it... I just couldnīt find it.
(sorry for the bad english).
Thanks

Do any of your alarms in the datebook work?
I've set alarm "appointments" in DateBk5 as an alarm clock without any problem. Works great for me. Try tapping on that little speaker icon on the bottom tool bar and make sure "mute" is not checkmarked, and both the audio and alarm scrollbars are at "max".
You can also check the Clie Sound Util program to make sure your alarm sound files actually make noise..

I use mine for an alarm clock every morning. I just put in an appointment (I usually call it "Up") at the time I want to get up and then set the alarm to go off 1 minute before the time.
Maybe you should check your system settings and see if your alarm is muted. Go to your home and select prefs, then the drop down menu to General, and see what your alarm sound says.

I use Big Clock freeware. It is a great app. I have it set to wake me for work every day and earlier on Tuesday for Bible study.
I can, with a little bit of work, switch it to a different time
zone when I travel. Set your own ring tones. It never fails due to power failure like my alarm clock!

WA Clock is a very good clock and you can't beat the price.
One of the best Alarm Clock programs I have used.

I've been using WA Clock since I've gotten the Clie, and it's great. (Can't complain about the price!!!).

Ive used datebook for almost 3 years (different palms) withought fail. Much better than a real alarm clock because it can be set to repeat only on weekdays. The only challenge is finding an alarm sound that doesnt scare you ****less or not wake you up at all :D. Oh, and it also forces you to get up, turn on your clie, and stare into a bright backlight before you can turn it off. No falling back to sleep with this :D

I use WA Clock. It allows me to sett an entire weeks worth of alarms and still have one or two alarm slots left over for incidentals, and last minute things.
1. Wake up - Time for work (W,Th,F, Sa)
2. Time to take daughter to school (M,Tu)
3. Pick Daughter up from school (M,Tu)
4. Open
5. Open
Very Nice. MUCH more capale and handy than all of the other shareware-wanna-bes.

Last night I had my girlfriend do "Baby....wake up..." on the voice recorder. Saved as alarm, used WA clock. Bada boom!
In general the DateBook app should alarm you. There are preinstalled alarms. Do you hear them? I mean do: can you play them on the Clié?? lol.
If yes, Did you see a wake up screen when you switched it on?

I used to use WA all the time as an alarm clock. But that's how I dropped it, picking it up while half asleep to turn off the alarm.

Hate to sing to the same tune ;) but I would have to agree, WA Clock is best I found. Works really well...has plenty of options, and you can see what time it is in other parts of the world. Which can definitely come in handy for some of us with clients or kids or whatever in other time zones.

I'm using WA Clock too, albeit haven't really bothered trying out other alarm clock apps out there.
But is it me, or is my alarm way too soft? Under Prefs its set to Loud but its still pretty soft.

OK..... I'm using WAAlarm on my NX80 and all is fine, except when I mute the sounds so my wife doesn't give me "the look" while playing solitare in bed long after she's gone to sleep (let's not get into the social implications of THAT :-)
So, now I'm tired and put my Clie down and forget to un-check MUTE. Now I'm screwed as it's 9am (instead of 6:30am) and my plane has taken off without me.
Surely there has to be some kind of utility out there (or another Alarm Clock program) that doesn't pay attention to MUTE????

I'd like an app that you can set times for the unit to be muted and unmuted... does anyone know of such an app out there?
I was using my NX70V as an alarm clock, but I have a software conflict that is keeping WA Clock from making any sound! It keeps going off every morning, but it never produces a sound (and it is not muted). Right now I'm depending on my old alarm clock and my new cell phone to wake me up, but I'd like to hunt down this software conflict and use WA Clock again.

I have been using big clock for quite a while...especially when traveling. I refuse to rely upon a hotel alarm clock or wakeup call...

slippy4twenty,
Off topic, doesn't the Xaser III case ROCK! Got one myself.

skorpiankh: Hell yeah, I'm thinking of taking out the fans and putting in LED fans. But I have to admit, for a P4 rig, this thing runs cool as hell stock. Love working in it, all nice rounded edges, there's pretty much NOTHING to cut yourself on in there.
But I can't find my case key!

the trick is to turn your clie speaker side up before you go to bed! Then you will hear it.

I use my clie as an alarm every single morning. I don't need anything special, I just use the datebook. Create an entry (I call mine "UP") and put in the time you want to get up and set the alarm. No need for any third party apps to take up space and best of all, with the great clie built-in alarm sounds, the alarms are nice to wake up to, and I've got them set to go off every ten minutes for half an hour. Works like a charm. No need for any other program than what's already in there.

Used to do the same thing. Now, instead of MUTE, I just turn down/off the Game Sounds (System is already off.) and leave the Audio and Alarm sliders all the way up.
WA Clock rocks. Much more reliable (set and forget) and convenient than cluttering up my already overloaded Agendus.

the only thing about using the built in datebook for alarms, if you sync with your office outlook, you end with all those alarms there as well. thats why i use a 3rd part - megaclock.

What's the correct way in turning off the WA Alarm? Do I have to flip the screen and press 'OK'? I kept sliding the power button on my NX80...

i agree, the WA clock rules. i have a T665, and i love the way it look on the screen.
one question, did anyone make a WA closk icon for zlauncher? i still have the crappy low-res icon, and it look silly next to all those nice high-res icon...
thx,

Best regards,
plug in the remote with no headphones as a hardware mute, harder to forget.
I'll probably come off as incredibly weird, but I snore @ about twice as many decibels as any sound the pathetic speaker could produce. Rag away, but I know those who keep small rodents and other pests out of there homes with the sub and super-sonic blasts they emit during their clamourus slumbers. I love big words. I should learn how to spell 'em.
