I'm a Bhajis Loops user, but my trusty old Zire 72 is starting to give me serious touch screen issues after a lot of use and its now wildly inaccurate to use with a stylus, and I would like to move on to something else. I like the idea of the Sony Clie UX50, as it has built in wifi and a dedicated keyboard which I'm hoping will be good for using my Gmail and light internet browsing at home over wifi when I don't have a computer on, and for streaming internet radio (Soma FM etc) with Pocket Tunes 3.0.9. Also I'm hoping I can pick one up pretty cheap.

The Palm TX would have been the natural way to go, but I like the idea of a built in keyboard, and its nice to have a camera even if it might be a bit naf. I also like that the UX50 folds away in a clamshell design. I've decided to stick with things that run Palm OS purely because of my use of Bhajis Loops, and at the moment Styletap just can't cut it with Bhajis.

From reading here I've seen that I can up the memory stick capacity of the UX50 to 4GB using a couple of hacks, but can I use even larger capacity sticks? I am currently using a 16gb SDHC card in my Zire 72 (with PowerSDHC) which works really nicely. It would be really cool if I could get a 16gb pro stick to work with a UX50. Anyone think this is possible?

I understand that using above 2gb sticks means that some native Sony apps won't read the card. Can you still shoot pictures/film with the camera to the card if you are using an above 2gb card?

Also, how good are the internet browsing capabilities of the UX50? Is it slow? Any thoughts would be great!

Cheers.

I'm afraid I have no idea about the memory stick issue (2GB is plenty for me).

As for the internet browsing capabilities, I would say at best they are limited. Even with the NetFront 3.1 hack (search this forum for more details) a lot of websites don't seems to work so well anymore. The 11MBps WiFi connection and a 123Mhz processor mean that the UX is now ageing. I too love PalmOS but it looks like when I get round to upgrading it will probably be to a UMPC...
