Sigh.. It's one of those days. I've been wanting to upgrade for a long time now... Now I can get a tg50 brand new shipped no tax for about $320. With all these rumors of a new something coming out.. I'm going crazy!! I still have my service protection plan on my Nr70 from comp usa but was going to use that for the new high res + device... Should I go for the tg50? and then just sell it when the new device comes out? I really like the bluetooth in the tg 50 but not too fond of the small screen (too used to the nr..)

:(

Try the keyboard first.  Maybe it's just me or my hands but I like the keyboard on the NR70 much more than on the TG50.

You will HATE the screen. Small, and dim areas at the bottom. The TG has only 11mb free.My advice is to wait.

FWIW, this past weekend I was in Akihabara (the electronics district of Tokyo), looking to buy a TG50. I hated it - small screen and no grafitti area (a must for me). Anyway, while explaining to the sales rep that I am not interested in the TG50, and the reasons why, another customer told me to wait about 4 weeks. Turns our she works for Sony on the Clie team and she told me that they are just about to release the same model with a larger display and no keyboard. She would not give me any more details, but her 'tone' and 'encouragement to wait' leads me to believe there is more to it than just a larger screen and graffitti area. So, for me - I will wait. BTW, the 128 MS are selling in Akihabara for as low as 7,000Yen (about $60 US).

Oh yeah, we know her, she's been posting here lately, too.

BTW, 128 MS were selling in United States last December for under $30 (about 3,500 Yen).

Unless there is something specific about the TG50 you NEED right now, I'd wait. The new Palm OS5.2, that will probably be in future Sonys, now supports up to 128mb of RAM.

Okay.. I'll wait it out... I'm really sick of that NR 70 memory stick problem and already got it fixed by sony once. I have no time in my schedule to take it apart, and if I make time, i can't hang out here :)

In the meantime, I'll just sit and watch all the unregistered people post!

I, too, found the keyboard on the XG50 a real turnoff compared to my NR70.

I'm going to wait it out.
