Palm OS5 (Tungsten) support please! :D

Once it is in the ScummVM CVS though we'll all be able to work on it.

How about a blitter system similar to the PC version with customized blitters not only for every palm generation, but maybe even for single devices:
You render the picture to a spot in memory and the blitter picks it up and moves to the video memory. The blitter could do things like resize, rotate, stretch, blur, color depth conversion, ARM supported bilinear resize and so on: Wouldn't that be really great?
Also Greyscale and lowres versions could be done using specialized blitters (and maybe a little hack for a zoom module)

They're all good ideas hans, but I really think that sound is the very first thing to do now. I prefer having a 100% emulated game than having an 80% emulated one with adds :)

hansschmucker, ScummVM really takes all ressources the Clie offers. Even implementing sound would be hard, cause that way things will getting even slower (play Bejeweled w/ and w/o sound to see the difference).
But a blitter isnt an option at all with OS 4.x Clies. Especially not for Grayscale devices, cause that one usually are the ones which have really slow CPUs.
The PPC version also doesnt offer blitters cause they simply have only 320 * 240 screen resolution. So thats why games look that horrible on Pocket PCs, cause the pixels are way larger.
So why wasting resources for full screen, when you could play instead amazing games like The Dig or Full Throttle (which would slow down your Clie anyway - w/ or w/o sound or blitters ;)) ?

What are blitters???

I've got a nx70v, shouldn't that have enough juice it be able to do alot more than previous clies.

Scummvm runs a little slow right now on most games, but thats cause Scummvm is running through PACE which takes up a real lot. If it was pure arm native code then I think that it would run mint

deadlyfoez, i presume sooner or later ScummVM will go ARM. But for mid term its not that likely, cause it will mean that appr. 95 % of all potential ScummVM users cant use ScummVM anymore. And thats surely something what chrilith wont be happy about.
And PACE is already amazing. Real fast 68k emulation. The few bugs which still exist surely will be ironed out with future OS upgrades.

Blitters are engines which display the logical screen data on the physical screen and could differ them while doin that. For example there are blitter features like 2x scaling with antialiasing or full screen scaling with gray level conversion, etc. etc.

thanx for the info.

I'm trying to learn how to program os5. I don't know any palm, c, c++, java, or ect... The only prgramming I know is QBasic. I have a true basic knowledge of how a computer works. But I don't have much to know about how new technology EXACTLY works.

Could anyone here put me in the right direction??

Thanx a lot
