Down load TV Programs

I know it's possible to view TV programs via the internet on a PC computer but is it possible to record these programs to the hard drive? I would like to record some TV programs for later viewing on my T/X but can't seem to figure out how to record the programs to my hard drive. The web sites that show the programs like Fox TV don't have an option to download the programs.
Does anyone know if this is possible short of getting a screen capture program or paying for them at sites like itunes?

where are you from? at least in germany there is a program called ´clickfinder´ which shows the program and allows for (timed) recording.

It appears the clickfinder web site is only in German.

my best guess would be to try the websites of tv-program-newspapers for apps like this. (´clickfinder´ is run by one of the largest printed tv-program-newspapers, and it´s got a palm program with conduit, too :) ).
