Got a little question here:
I own a coulpe of Dvd's I converted them to DivX, is it possible to watch a full movie on a NX70 (landscape) at reasonable quality?
For me this would be one of the mayor points in buying a NX70.
I would like to know or it is even possbile. With the movie file(s) Stored on a CF card.
Maybe someone tried it already please tell me your expirience about it.
:D

And if I would convert it to CLie format...would it work then?

You can convert them to CLIE format using Image Convertor. If they don't work first time you might need to convert to another format that the CLIE understands. So far I've found DivX4 and DivX5 both work, but the sounds is encoded as MS ADPCM.
I've done this a bunch of times and watch them (in landscape) from my CF card. However, people are still having issues with the CF card where it might be possible to only convert using Standard quality in Image Convertor. I'm sure Eruware are working on this though...
So far I've not got MMPlayer working.

I thought the mmplayer didn't support sound on Clie os5 devices? Last thing I read was that, since Sony was being stingy with the information on using the OS5's sterio API's, they were going to focus on Tungstens and Zire 71's.
Has anyone heard different?

There's so many post on the mmplayer.com forum about Sony's devices and the software, but did you read the faq or some posts ?
"MMPlayer is currently only tested on Palm Tungsten T's. (see FAQ)
We plan to support all PalmOS 5 devices, but we haven't tested MMplayer on Clie's yet.
We hope to be able to buy some Sony handhelds soon to provide compatibility for those devices".
"Sorry guys, MMPlayer currently only works on Tungsten | T and Zire 71.
Sony has decided not to publish it's sound API, at least not anything better than 8 bit, 8kHz, mono. And to the best of my knowledge, that's what Kinoma uses".
"Perhaps we'll try it out later but first we'll concentrate on a stable Palm only version".
Has anybody succeeded in playing Divx with his Clie ? I don't understand why Cliesource has put this information here. May you know how to resolve the problem ???

Damn you serious? I just bought a NX70v on eBay and I already started converting my collection of Dvd's ;) So the conversions are useless now since I used 32kHz sound...
Grrrr.....my first disapointment and I dont even have the Pda yet :P
Grrr....The world should be forced into open source!

Yes. I have now heard of these problems. However clie should be supported but ONLY with 8Hz sound... Very unfortunate. I like Clies so it's a shame.
But I have a Tungsten T! Sorry!

Is it possible to find decent quality movies somewhere other than kinomi or sony that I can down load directly to my mem stick? I will pay what ever but I don't want to be a producer....just a watcher....what is DivX?

DivX = Divercified Internet Video XXX, the XXX is because the Whole DivX thing started out with XXX stuff if you know what I mean. The 3 XXX represent also the start of it: DivX3, at the moment we're at DivX5, and that is really rough stuff...
Ok, enough BS for today. You can download it But your gonna have to look VERY hard. And I assume that your knowledge pc wonderland is not very high, so your supersearch is probably gonna end in Google. Or your just pulling a joke on us...:) I actually hope so... Any way if I we're you I'd install Kazaa Lite and download all divX you can get your greedy little hands on and after that, change your mind on being a producer, you got time enough for that since a reasonable DIvX is a least 650 Megs.
And then visit: http://www.pocketmatrix.com/guides/dvd2divx/
Which will give you an detailed discription of how you can make them Clie "compatible" Good luck with it.
Oww and by the way, you can only download movies of which you own the actual DVD, I don't want you to be waking up one day having a couple of black suits next to you bed tossing you in prison. (this only happens in the US thou) While your sceaming MANIAXDREAM made me do it!! It is all his fault! And then they come after my ***. Fortunatly I can see them coming because I had Q working on my CLie, So I'll just fly away or shoot them with my Camera cq. Lasergun. or teleport my self into Disney land or some other kewl place idiots belong who type this kind of nonsonse.
I am gonna sleep now, I am getting annoying.
Adios.
