Been a long-time supporter for the Facer launcer by PocketCraft since it's early development, but sadly they went under. Recently, I found Propel for palm os by the folks at Iambic. First off Propel looks way to similar to Facer, did PocketCraft sell their stuff ti Iambic. Also, has anyone had any experience with this launcher app?

I did a review of propel a while back on Tam's palm - check my sig. Their is also an initial review to check as well. My feeling was that as a launcher it was insufficient in many ways. I was immediately told by other users that it was never meant to be a launcher (see comments at Tam's Palm), but rather more of a finder.

Whatever the case, it didn't fit my needs and has real problems with devices that have screens bigger than 320x320. I still use LauncherX as my device launcher even though it hasn't been updated in years and most likely won't be - it meets my needs and more. I've tried Zlauncher, an excellent application, but it was too bloated for me with way more bells and whistles than even a power user like myself needs. The footprint was larger also.

Ok, you're right about ZLauncer having too many bells & whistles, but is Propel an offspring off of Facer, or something different? Also, Did PocketCraft go completely under, or are they up to something new?

I thought Propel was basically Initiate (Pro) by hobbyist ?

It is my understanding that Propel and initiate are essentially the same thing under different names.

So I assume, that the folks formerly at Pocketcraft had nothing to do with Propel?

That's right.

If I was buying it I'd get Initiate, as it will be the most up to date, whereas Propel tends to be a few version points behind.

BTW, see my post about TealOS I'm about to make :)

Oddly enough, I just tried propel, and it sucks...made mt T|C crash repeatedly. I had to go back to my old copy of Facer 3.1. I know Zlancher and others have more bells & whistles, I feel that facer was and still is one of the best well-rounded launcher apps out there.
