My T|X is right now in the infamous reset loop. Can't be fixed by hard reset, can't be fixed by disconnecting the battery, etc.
Considering that the motherboard is now as good as a paperweight, I though I might give it a try and desolder the NAND flash and either fully erase it or write another image to it (an image I still don't know where to get).
Do you think it can be fixed that way? If not, what you think is the real cause of the not-uncommon reset loop?
Does anybody know if clearing it (filling with 0) will at least allow the device to boot?
EDIT: After reading the NuRom thread, I get the feeling that Palm's done the unthinkable and didn't write-protect the ROM chip. A pity, since the Strataflash chip seems to be BGA. I still find it hard to believe that ROM itself is corrupted, as the Palm(One) logo, hard reset dialog bitmaps, etc. all show fine.
Is the reset loop problem fixed in non-flashable rom TXs? Bad news for me then, I was already going to connect the Samsung NAND chip to an xD card reader :)
