One of the advantages of working in the IT dept is that you get to talk to big dogs about problems. I've been having issues with connecting the clie wireless to the campus network. After some looking around it appears that DNS is acknowledging the request for an IP, sends the IP, but the clie never takes the IP. WTF, it works at home and in the IT labs, but not the rest of the campus. Anyone else experience this?

Yes ive tested it in multiple locations. The clie sends the requests ok but it does not take the settings correctly. I have found that the networking works MUCH more stable when you set everything manually.

When I last saw that (on an original-firmware Apple Airport, never upgraded) it turned out that turning off power saving (the mystery fix to most clie 802.11 problems! :-) solved the problem. Didn't *explain* the problem, but I could see tcpdump on the far side and it was definitely being sent a response...
