If I remember correctly, on the Pocket Tune Yahoo group, they stated that they would love to port their product to the Clie, but Sony has not been open in sharing their codes so that this can take place.

Right, without Sony releasing the API's, most developers won't touch it, sorry :(

As Larry says without Sony becoming 'open' little motivation for developers to do much for the Clie.

from the Sony dev site :
"Music SDK

The PEG-N710C has a built-in audio player for listening to MP3 or ATRAC3 audio files. The SDK 2.0 describes how to enable an application to read audio files from Memory Stick media."

a bit old, but maybe you can do something with that. You won't be able to make an AAC player, coz the libs don't exist, but MP3 should work, I think...

... but I'm no developer, so I can't tell

Pressuring sony into releasing sound APIs will do as much good as pressuring them into releasing CF drivers did.

And seeing as the N710C is not the NX70V, and runs a different OS and has a different CPU, no, it will not help. Sorry. The developers of Pocket Tunes/Aeroplayer haven't simply missed something on the sony web site or in teh APIs that will allow them to support the Clies.

well, yeah, think of it, it was a quite stupid post I made. ;-)

and I agree with you, the only time sony corrected something about their proprietary format, it was with the N700 (japanese model) to allow the thing to play MP3s, and it did cost 60$ :-o

how's Sendai today? Osaka's pretty hot.

Sony hasn't done anything in over two years, since the upgrade of the N710C.

yeah...this whole thing really irritates me. i've looked into this and they said not available and then wouldn't respond to any further inquiries.

had i known before that you can't create playlists on the clie and that you can't write 3rd party multimedia apps, i would have gotten the tungsten. what good is having a bunch of audio files on your handheld if you can't sort or create playlists? i have a list of over 100 files...as if i'm going to go through the [abysmally slow] list to check the ones i want every time i listen to music!

Wow, those must be short songs, akmartin

Create folders for playlists, and rename the one you want to play to the msaudio name.
