Hi. Got SO fed up with the Sony Audio player limiting you to a single folder, that I junked the idea of using the 512MB CF's and bought an iPod. I'm also not convinced of the stability of Masquerade mode and as I understand it the camera doesn't work well with it either. Besides, I have a few 128MB MS sticks so camera storage isn't a problem.

I'm not knocking Eruware's drivers... They did a great job (but perhaps more stability/compatibility on the Masquerade mode in the next version?). The problem is primarily with Sony's apps. But the main purpose I had in mind with the Eruware driver was having a few 512MB CF's on which I had different music stored, and that's been made redundant by the iPod.

So I'm now thinking what the hell can I do with my CF cards? I use CF in my cameras but I've never needed more than 128MB... And I have quite a few 128MB CF cards too. I've not really looked into third party software for the NZ, only thing I have is Plucker which is fantastic. Are there any memory-hungry 'killer apps' I can use the big CF cards with?

You could load movies on to the CF cards and watch them!

I haven't got anything to watch. And unless it arrives in the Clie format, I'm not going to bother converting anything.

Well, that's the key word here, "bother". Anything worth doing with your PDA is going to be a bit of a bother. For me, ripping and converting a movie to CLIE format takes about two days (of course, most of that is processing time and dead time. MY time at the keyboard is about 10 minutes).

If you want to be entertained, you will need to put forth a little bit of effort.

And if you're not going to bother then why should anyone else?

I agree. I've already converted the Matrix (hasn't everyone...) and can't wait to be able to play the whole thing from my CF card in high quality.......

Actually it strikes me as a combination of bother (all that converting for something I'll watch once) and over-geekery, especially with said conversion effort. Watching videos isn't my bag. Anything else?

Well, it is a whole lot of storage space. You could put 4 hours of MP3 files on it or all the maps of the US or a couple of hundred ebooks. You could keep hundreds of photographs on it.

I dunno. What do you normally do with your Clie? Whatever that is, you can now do more of it.
