I'm new to the boards and have a puzzling situation...I own 3 Palm tungsten Cs (don't ask!) which all run Palm OS 5.2.1 and have the same TCPMP 0.71 running as my multimedia player. The curious thing is, on ONE of the Palm TCs the option under "Tweaks" for LCD white borderless fullscreen ACTUALLY works but doesnt on the other two. Now I know that option warns "Not all LCD panels support it" but (dumb question?) wouldn't the same Palm TCs all have the same LCD panels?

My primary question is really just: "Why will the black border work on ONE but not the other (seemingly identical) TWO?

I tried wiping them and installing the same programs installed on the one, I tried using BlackBorder and that other "border" prc...nothing has worked.

I know this is an OLD Palm but I like to think of it as the "iPhone before the iPhone"! ha! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All manufacturers buy parts from different supplier, the lowest priced one. The TE shipped with at leased 3 different LCD screens and 2 different touch screens for a combination of 6 different configurations of screen sub-assemblies.

The TE does not have a cellular radio.

Thanks! (I actually goofed and put TE instead of Tungsten C) but I'm sure the explanation is the same for TCs as well. Did i mention the one that "works" just happens to be the one that has a cracked case! D'oh!
