I have little experience with the iPhone, much with Palm and now WinMobile smartphones. It is my understanding that the iPhone, although connects to MS Exchange Server, does not allow for downloads of email attachments from Exchange Server. Is that true? An important question, then, that has not been addressed anywhere that I've seen is the Pre ability to download Exchange Server email attachments. Very important for potential enterprise users.

The iPhone has been able to download attachment through Exchange since the 2.0 release.

A friend ............ very computer savvy .......... just purchased an iPhone and has been unable to DL Outlook (Exchange Server) attachments. His problem?

EDIT: Yup, he had purchased a pre-2.0 version. He returned and got a v2.2.
