Hello. Even (especially?) after reading the CF sticky, I am lost with regard to the possibility and how-to of making my NX70v see a CF card in the slot. I don't want to do anything with the card except have it be a storage medium for ebooks, for Mobipocket, which is working like a champ, and sees the Memory Stick fine. I purchased two 256mb cards on ebay, possibly made by a Taiwan company called "FlashCard".

It would be nice if they worked in the 70. I have an NX80v arriving next week, and I understand that if these are compatible, they should work in that without further action. (?)

The Sticky was daunting. I understand how to install stuff, and I've updated my software on the 70, but I started thinking I was back in the land of the pre-release OLPC when I was reading it. :)

So is there a simple set of files somewhere to simply put in the Install area of the Hotsync Manager and then perform the Hotsync?

And, I ask hestitatingly, after that, would Mobipocket see that card automatically?

And, is the link to compatible CF cards still around?

I want to add, that the Clie is the greatest ebook reader around for outdoor use, all things considered.

Thank you.

Basically with Memorysticks I press the format button in my Sony Clies that I have when I first start to use them. I suppose your Clie has a program called Clie Files and when you press the button near the Home button (called a menu button) it will show the submenu with the word format. Press that button and it will add the sub file structure you need to load all your programs and files.

File basics: PALM (headings are all capitalized for main storage areas)
DCIM (where Jpeg(photo) files are kept
--------------------------------------------
Subfiles are files under the Main files sort of like a tree has logical branches
files under PALM are
Launcher (notice the first letter is only capitalized) If you get
programs you can put them here. You can also put your
ebook files here.
Programs I believe music files will go somewhere here, since Palm
Sony have different formats I am a bit confused.

Anyone know about drivers to allow the CF slot to make use of a CF card on the NX70v? I have been wondering about formatting a memory stick but I will start a new thread on that; it's not actually a formatting question.

You can download Pelaca's CF drivers from this mirror http://uk.geocities.com/mattyj2003@btinternet.com/

I use this along with a FAT32 driver to support the 4GB CF card in in my NX70V/G for ebooks using "Plucker" and videos using "TCPMP"

The CF Driver installed on the Clie as-is, will support CF Crads upto 2GB, you'll only need a FAT32 driver is you use any card (MSPD, or CF) over 2GB.
