What am I going to fill with my 128mb MS after the new IPod render the MP3 player in my T665 useless. I already have lots of utility program in there and i don't really fond of reading e-books from the unit. I also don't feel like watching a trailer of Matrix Reloaded in the unit as well...

I have a cd-mp3 player, and i still put a few mp3's on my memory stick for my NR70V, b/c i always have my NR with me, and sometimes it's more convenient.
I also switch around video clips (keeps me entertained once in a while, and etnertains my friends) on there, and keep big databases there. A few pictures. it fills it up

Do you listen to audiobooks? You can put on recordings of npr shows if you like that stuff for when you're bored... iSilo sites too! But full sites!! Not just watered down text only versions!

Oh, for a lot of those, I use audible.com but you'll have to convert them into a form you can use on your clie (mp3) there are programs to do this. For internet streaming, just do a search.. There are tons of sites. Start maybe with npr.org

I'd fill it with lots of Mapopolis maps, so that I would be covered when I travel; also some e-books, photos, dictionaries and other reference works, and a translation program (Beiks).

Yeah.. mapopolis maps! Forgot about how big some of them are! I'm in Chicago and the map files are HUGE! My county alone is divided into 4 separate maps!

Is Mapopolis a freeware ? Do you need a GPS to get it work ? Any link to Mapopolis is apprecaited.

You may want to try Mapopolis Dot Com (http://www.mapopolis.com). I heard about Mapopolis a long time ago, but never knew where to find it. Finally, someone was kind enough to give me their web address. Thought I'd be kind and return the favor to you. Mapopolis is as good a mapping program as you will find, but it is not freeware. Prices depend on the amount of detail you want in your maps. Try it out, you can download a sample map. It works with GPS, but GPS is not required.

I use a 128MB MS and I store mp3s, pictures, dictionaries, back-ups and Avantgo (somehow I've managed to run the latest OS5 beta of Avantgo from the MS). I still have about 32MB of spare space! Perhaps Sony's original thinking about the capacity consumers would need from the MS format was not that wide of the mark!

Depends upon, among other things, how many MPs your camera has and how cute your babies are, how many languages you speak, what kinds of data you like to have at your fingertips, etc. If SONY's original thinking about Memory Stick was correct, we wouldn't have had such a travesty last December with Memory Stick PRO. Yes, I'm all for progress, but I also appreciate truth in advertizing.
