hi there,

i wonder if there´s an app out there that allows one to make use of the/a hardware button on a headset. I use a third party headset which has a button on it, which i would like to use with pTunes (next/prev, resp.). is there any hack ot something that allows to do that, some set-and-forget-solution?

PS: I know that there´s "HeadsetControl 1.08", but that doesn´t seem to be supported to well and interefere´s with 2playme´s alarm clock function, which makes it useless to me.

Try MagicButton from Toysoft

HeadsetControl and the products of ToySoft (http://www.toysoft.ca/audio.html) are the main options.

I personally prefer HeadsetControl, but the experience varies.

What I would love to see is an application that allows activation and voice recording through the headset - even the wired one .....

Thx. As I said, HeadsetControl silences my 2PlayMe alarms, and that is something I can´t allow to happen.

But I didn´t know about MagicButton, I´ll try that, thx. I suppose it´s designed not only for the headset that comes with the Treo, but for (almost) any Headset. I´ll report

report on MagicButton, as promised: works with my nokia-headset and it´s button and does NOT kill my 2playme alarms, but is a little slow in reaction time (takes about a second or two to recognize a button press, not configurable). Headsetcontrol was faster and differentiated between short and long presses.

So, if it weren´t for the problems with 2playme, I´d say "HeadsetControl" has an edge over MagicButton. But I´ll stick with it since 2Playme is far more important for my needs.

Thx for the hints,
