Does anyone know when this is going to happen. I really want one so I can enjoy the internet on my couch or at the mall or something (wherever I can get it). If anyone has any information about anyone releasing something like this in the near future please let me know. Thanks!:D

You could buy a bluetooth enabled cell phone.

That can be expensive don't you think. I already have a cell phone but I really want one of those T68is because of the bluetooth feature. If Sprint had a Cell with Bluetooth that would be better cause then I would be able to keep my plan and switch phones.

Sprint and SonyEricsson are releasing the T608 "in 2nd Quarter of 2003". It __will__ have bluetooth.

That is cool I will do that then cause it looks as though they aren't thinking about releasing a WIFI card for the TG-50.

How could they release a WiFi card unless it is a MS model, which isn't going to be released except by a third-party company.

I have been anxiously awaiting the sony t608 for sprint pcs. I have been a sprint customer for a few years and i would like to keep my number. Also the fact the unlimited 3G vision is only $10 a month keeps me with sprint. Don't get me wrong, ATT&T and Verizon are just as good, but i'm tied into a sprint contract right now.

Porter, preach on. I'm in the same boat. I'm eagerly awaiting this phone. "Unlimited" vision and bluetooth will be nice with a TG50.

FYI: A U.S. federal law mandating cell phone number portability has been on the books, but the carriers successfully lobbied for a 4-year delay. The revised effective date should kick in prior to Christmas of this year. I just ran a search to get a non-lawyer's overview. Here's an excerpt.
Quote: (Washington Post 5/14/03)
-----------
. . . is excited about a change in federal regulations that, if implemented as scheduled this fall, would require cell-phone and local phone companies to allow customers in the 100 largest U.S. markets to keep their numbers when they switch carriers, even if it costs a little more. . .
Wireless companies, including Verizon Wireless and Cingular Wireless, lobbied hard against the Federal Communications Commission's requirement and succeeded in delaying for four years the deadline to make this happen. But industry watchers don't expect them to be able to put it off past the latest, Nov. 24 deadline any longer.

Americans would be wise to copy the article, use a thick black magic marker to write the word ENOUGH! over it, and send it with a demand letter to your Washington D.C. representative and senator, while taking steps to ensure that everyone you know does likewise. Running a Google search, on their News page, with the keywords --> cell number portability <-- will yield more details.
To all who read this post: Respectfully, if you don't take a moment to put pen to paper, you have no basis for complaint.

Everyone and his dog is waiting for the bloody T608, myself included. Phonescoop currently lists "June 2003", so maybe we will have it in the next few weeks.
Mind you, you are not SUPPOSED to surf the web with a PDA/laptop and a Vision phone. They "monitor" Vision usage for such activity. Consensus is that they won't bother you unless you are hogging major bandwidth or using it as your primary net connection. I don't think they'd care about e-mails, basic web surfing, and syncing.

Yeah, that's a sticky subject in some of the sprint forums. I can't see how sprint would get upset, seeing as they sell the Treo and a Toshiba PPC. I mean, we a Clie we couldn't do anything they couldn't do :)

Surfing the web and email is pretty much all i would want to do using my clie and the t608. Sprint shouldn't have a problem with that, especially since most of the marketing for the t608 is centered around the fact that it has BT. "Here is our new phone that is bluetooth enabled, but you can't use the bluetooth to use vision via a pda." Sounds kinda stupid eh?

There isn't one. The SE T608 is going to be the first CDMA phone in the US with bluetooth. Seeing as verizon is CDMA and sprint will be the first with the T608... well, you follow me :)
