Strange, but it seems the wavy lines are almost gone after using my TG for a couple of months now. I'd say it was just me getting used to them, but even if I crank the brightness all the way up, they're just barely visible as dark/bright alternating lines at the very edge of the screen. They were much more prominent when I first got it, especially with the screen as bright as possible.
I do have a fellowes screen protector (I don't recommend them, though!), and it does make the screen dimmer, but I wouldn't think it would make that much difference.
On the other hand, my keys aren't much easier to press, but I have gotten used to them, and my typing speed is much faster.
