So I was thinking......Wouldnt it be nice if you could control the exposure time on Treos to be able to take darker lighting picctures? Since the Treos have no Flash.
Just throwing this idea out there.
Anyone think its possible to hack into the camera program and add that to the options menu? While we're at it maybe control shutter speed?
I know the cameras limited and dont know how the program works but it'd be nice to have if its doable.

camera is controlled through i2c, and sends data over pxa quick capture bus. i2c registers of this camera are not documented. but info can be found online. so all-in-all, one would just need to send a few i2c commands to it.

I was with my kids yesterday and took a decent picture. (well would have been decent if there was more light) After I looked at it and saw how dark it was. Photoshop didnt do much with it and since I know most of us dont carry our good cameras around all the time thouoght it be neat to set an exposure time in the menu.
If that was the case we could just set a ringtone as a timer in the menu set the Treo/Centros on a table etc and voila!
Half decent low light picture out of the old Palms.
It probably wouldn't make money as an app but itb be nice to have. :)

It would be nice if Palm could fit a decent camera to the Treo, Nokia etc seem to be able to do it.
What Treo are you using?
The camera on my 650 was fine for everyday snaps, but the one on my 680 is terrible. The red is too dark, coming out more like brown.
I bought my 680 direct from Palm and when I saw how bad the camera was I sent it back within the allowed period, 14 days?, to get a refund and got another from them, hoping the first was faulty. However the replacement was the same, so I gave up and kept it. It seems to me that the 680 camera is worse than the 650, period. :(
I love Palm OS, but I'm getting very tempted by other platforms
