Sony Software Updates for NX70V

How do you keep upto date with the latest Sony software updates for the NX70V? What is the best site(s)?

No, thats the wrong place for a european version of the NX70. You dont need al the US updates update. The european version is newer and has several updates already in place (no need for the system update and part of the MS Pro update).

For support of the european Clie's go to CLIÉ plaza (http://www.clieplaza.com/) and then select "Support" and then go through the menu. Eventually you should get on the NX70 Updates (http://www.clie-link.com/uk/updates.asp?ID=884&submenu=updates.asp&mainmenu=compatibility.asp) page.

How was that said before, English doesn't always equate to American :).

I discovered today on the home page of ClieSource, that it has a listing of what appears to all of Sony's support sites.

Larry or any one,

If I am just getting mine NX70 right now, how can tell whether I need the Sony system software update or not? Also, if there are other updates I need, kindly point that out for me as well.

On all of the updates I have installed, on the page with instructions on the install there is a section tell you how to determine wheter you have had a successful update.

Example:

Confirm a Successful Installation

Tap the "Home" icon on the CLIÉ ™ handheld.

Tap the "Menu" icon, and select "App".

Tap "Info" from the App drop-down list.

All internal data information is displayed.

Tap "Version" at the bottom of the screen.

The software version for each item is displayed.

Scroll down the list and confirm that the following filenames and versions are displayed:



3452MSLib v2.00 & v1.00
Avx AT3Decoder v1.00 & v1.01
AvxMP3Decoder v1.0 & v1.01
CFLib v1.01
PenPatchNX70 v1.00

where do i get teh latest version of cflib... i saw on the mentioned update sites but couldnt see any for updationg the cflib file

There is not last version of msmount.
MSMount never updated there OS4.xx version so it will not work on OS5.
I have been using MemHack and PowerRun which do work on OS5.
Between both you should be satisfied.

Anytime you have to do a hard reset, you will need to re-install the system update patch, as it goes in RAM only! I keep a copy of the install file on my memory stick as well as some other drivers that aren't restored after a restore.

If you don't use the ATRAC3 music format, you can delete the AVX AT3 v1.01 decoder file to save some memory.

Can anyone tell me which model my clie is? euro, us, jap, planet mars, venus, etc. so i can download the correct updates

im abit confused as to what updates to install and where to get them from.....

It (G Model) is listed on Sony's Asian support site, it takes awhile to load.

lol....sorry larry.....ive got this stupid ms-pro stick and couldnt use it...

thanks for letting me know that i have the asian version. is it true that the asian version has more flash memory than the rest?

could you please help me with this:

everything is ok apart from the 1st two. on my unit i have:

3452MSLib v.2.10

ive installed the new driver a couple of times now with out any problems but still getting the same versions.

is there anything to worry about? i havent tried my card yet cuz i want it to happen correctly when i do

The USA version is different and Sony has made mistakes before with the versions reported. If most are okay, then you should be okay, so have fun!

Sorry, I don't know if it has any more Flash Rom. If it's multi-language, then it might have less. The USA version has 4.8 MB free. The Japanese model I think has the least. You can download JackFlash lite and it can tell you have much is available. Don't try and move any files into ROM, your limited to 64K I believe.
