Well, I asked this question on the CF Driver thread but i dont think many people saw it.

I'm a complete newb to CF cards as the only sort of portable memory drives I've used is a Memorystick and one of those USB flash drives.

Anyway, I just found out the other day that there's a CF, and a CF II. Now, which one does a Clie NX70V use? I havent even recieved my clie yet, but want to buy the CF card beforehand... Then again not knowing which CF card type to get I'm basically screwed if I buy the wrong one.

Can someone help me out here?

Most of the CF memory cards are type I. It's mostly the physical a size difference.

The Clie can accept Type II also.

I've always thought that Type II are usually the non-memory CF cards. (BT, WiFi etc)

I use SanDisk CF Cards which I can get cheap at Costco, 256MB CF = $59

The WL100 WiFi card is type I. A microdrive would be type II. There is some type II flash cards, one example is the Sandisk Ultra.

The SmartMedia to CF adapter is type II for example.

but what about the drivers, like the compatability with CF II? and whats the difference?

hmmm 256mb Transcend CF cards I can get here about $125 NZD, which would be about $65USD

The CF Driver handles Type II. I know Type II has bigger physical dimesions, it may also handle faster speeds in certain devices.
