forgive my ignorance but can anyone tell me the best way of connecting my NR70v to the internet?
I'd like to try out Snappermail but obviously need to connect!
I use a Nokia 8210 if that helps!
thanks

I don't know much about the phone you are using, but I purchased a cable from The Supply Net (http://www.thesupplynet.com) for mine to connect to my LG5350 phone. You may want to check there.
And Snapper Mail works great!

Also bluetooth MS to bluetooth WAP or PC with USB dongle works well. I use both and it comes in very handy.

Thanks both for the info. Checked out Supply Net but there doesn't seem to be anything for the 8210 - typical!
So it's either the bluetooth or I'll wait for Sony to make their new Clie announcements. Hopefully the new one will have WiFi on board! I live in hope....:;

I use an Nokia 8310 to check my mail from my clie.
Set up a network connection in PALM Prefs to your
ISP. I use Tiscali for this.
Then use an email app (I use Eudora) to check
your email.
If you need more detailed instructions email me.

I'll give it a try too, would be very handy to download AvantGo news using my Nokia 5210 (which has infrared), searching for an old dail-up internet account i can log in to...

It doesn't work!
Everyting is set up just fine, but when I log in using infrared with my Nokia 5210, it says: "Check service settings!" or something like that. I've changed the service settings alot of times, but that doesnt have to be nescessary because it's an dailup account and when I call the dail-in number, I hear those funny beeps, so it SHOULD work... does anybody know how to take care of this problem?

What is your dial-up service?
Most free services (Juno, etc) do not work for cell phone links. Neither does MSN.
I use Verizon dial up to link up with my Nokia 8290 via IR.
You have to make sure your dial-up service will work.
When I was first trying to set my link up, nobody from any internet service, cell phone manufacturer or cell phone service provider had any idea of what I was trying to do. Had to try out 3 to 4 different internet providers till I found one that worked.

No, that's not it, i've found the problem. It's my cell phone. I dont have the eeeh (don't know the word in English), my provider for my cellphone doesn't have this type of connection or something. At the moment i'm having a pre-paid SIMcard, bud should I change to a eeh onther type of SIMcard (the one where you get bills from) then everything will work, because i've tried with a friend of mine. (My English couldn't have been worse...)

i think ur phone only does wap, not gprs....for both the 8210 and 5210....and u need to activate wap on ur sim. chk with ur service provider if u can have that activated. den use ur dial up a/c to connect the phone and the palm, using the phone as a modem to dial up, just like the dial up access u have at home using the fixed line. Hope that helps. =)
