That's what you use the most, eh? Wondering if I can learn something...

Mine:

CardExport: My palm is also my work backup, I don't carry a USB keyfob.
EasyCald: Editable calculations with () can finally surpass RPN.
HFinance: Suddenly I'm on a budget. Not sure if I love this one...
IM+: Awesome.
LyME: Matlab on Palm. This is the killer app of the whole universe for me.
Media: shortcut to pics.
NotePad: Never use it. It's here to encourage me to take notes.
Pilotraining: I'm a triathlete, log my workouts. This rocks, but is defunct. Is there *any* close substitute out there. I seriously doubt it.
Planetarium: Awesome, if you're into the stars at all.
Progect: I don't use this enough. ToDo on steroids. A hierarchical scheduler.
pTUnes: Sucks, but I'm too ignorant to find something better.
YAUC: I use this every day.

:D I like your comments on your apps

RescoExplorer-File management
TCPMP- awsome media player
BlueRemote-to control my laptop
PalmVNC-to manage files on my home computer
Plucker-RSS and offline webpage viewer
pTunes-on the contrary I like it ;)

Slovoed Talking english spanish dictionary
the awsome Open aplication
Time Left- to track projects

Here's my home screen. (I have plenty of notes to rewrite, I know...).

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96/Skater_Sirian/screenshot0000.jpg

I had time to kill so I included some links to the apps I have :)

2day (http://www.shsh.com/main_2day.htm) - The home screen itself. I chose it over all other "today" apps, because it's simple and clean looking (even though it is more smartphone-oriented). And since it's the only one I've found to display the number of days left before tasks are due (well, at the time I was looking for an app that does this, anyway).

The i-bar plugin (http://www.shsh.com/plugins/main_ib.htm) compatible with it too make it a good little launcher. (I'm still praying in the future that the scroll arrows would scroll per-5 apps instead of 1 by 1, and the possibility to skin the placeholders). Well, I only use it for apps (obviously), but it can be used to link to contacts.

Here are the apps I have in the i-bar:

iSilo (http://www.isilo.com/download/iSiloPalmOS.htm) - document reader for the Palm OS. I've used this despite of the free alternatives (i.e. Plucker) out there. Idk, I find it easier to use and does a "cleaner" conversion.

Repligo - one of the things that make me cling on to my T|X. Cerience no longer supports Repligo for the Palm OS (hence, no link). This views converted .doc, .ppt and .pdf (although I use PalmPDF for this). I know Docs to Go can open these files too and can even edit them, but Repligo does the job (of viewing) much better (it's like a snapshot of the document). I don't edit docs on the go anyway.

QED (http://www.qland.de/qed/vis/index.htm) - The no-wrap text editor. Useful in conjunction with a monospace font. I use this to view very long formulae. It's a full-version, although nagware (still, the nag is not much of a nuisance).

Resco (http://www.resco.net/palm/default.asp) Viewer and Explorer - Nuff said about these two. And Explorer will have a big update, too.

Other things that I use often but not on the i-bar:

CardTXT (http://cardtxt.spaces.live.com/) - straight forward text editor. Saves in txt format and format compatible with QED too. I launch this via the Web button.

M-W Unabridged (http://www.clickapps.com/moreinfo.htm?pid=1106&section=PALM) - one of the bigger investments I've made for my T|X. It is a rather buggy app, with spontaneous errors (the dreaded "Dictionary Initialization Failed" error which I don't know how happened and know no other fix other than restoring to a stable NVBackup snapshot). I desperately needed a dictionary app at the time I bought this and I chose this over the plethora of dictionary solutions both free and not because I found it to be the most comprehensive. It's the only dictionary app which I found the word "ipseity" in. Launch by my T|X via the Address button.

Au Dodo (http://www.payalba.com/index.php?page=utilities) - I mapped Off/On to the Home button of my T|X using this. I found the power button too clunky to press, and was awkwardly positioned on the device.

CardReader (http://www.clickapps.com/moreinfo.htm?pid=3500&section=PALM) - the app which made me kiss hotsync goodbye. Easier file management to-and-fro my laptop. What it does it turn your Palm to a card reader (hence the name) to mount the SD card in the slot of your Palm to your PC.

Hi-launcher (http://www.hilauncher.com/) - windows-like menu launcher. I used to really have a windows like Start menu (with multiple cascading menus), but now have trimmed it to one level with a few options.

DAs I always use:

LClipDA (http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/lclipda.shtml) - ultimate clipboard solution. 10 clipboards at your fingertips. Stores a lot per clipboard to, making this very robust for a DA.

TealTools (http://www.tealpoint.com/softtool.htm) - though I only really use TealPad. Possibly one of the purchases I kinda regret. Okay, so not really since I use tealpad a lot. Tealpad is a simple memopad-type DA. What's great about it is that you have quick access to 8 pages, which is great for quick note-taking.

TealEdit pops up common text editing functions and is useful to some extent, though I only find using it in CardTXT, since CardTXT does not have a Select All function.

TealTime, I use only as stopwatch (which is very rarely)

TealCalc, useful for entering numerical data. It has a Paste function which pastes the current entry on the calculator to whatever active field you had upon calling this DA.

I don't (no longer) use the other tealtools, since I find that I no longer need them.

ApplicationsDA (created via Accessorizer) - (Accessorizer is a freeware app available in the Freeware section) a sublauncher per se. Any application launched via the ApplicationsDA becomes a DA. This removes the necessity to create multiple DAs of multiple apps.

TextPadDA - I use it to access symbols and the numpad without switching keyboards. (No link. I think I got it through a post somewhere here in 1src).

TeikeiDA - I use it to enter common phrases I type (i.e. boilerplates for text headers when taking notes, since I only take notes using CardTXT). No link (again), found it through a post somewhere in the forum.

That's all of it, I guess. I use a lot of calculators too (I mean, lots), but not always (most of which I found out through alt236's post).

And other apps (that I'm sure others will mention as well), such as NVBackup and Cleanstart. (A Palm T|X is NOT complete without NVBackup).

P.S. Cyberdude, that's an interesting looking Crossword app. :)

1. Bonsai (Natara. wow. what an app; prob best purchase I have made)
2. DateBk5 (too cheap to upgrade)
3. aBibleReader (from http://www.olivetree.com)
4. HandyShopper (prob. the best freeware ever?)
5. Email (read only; can't get outbound working [gmail])
6. Blazer (necessary evil)
7. SMS
8. Memo (have had problem with Wordsmith on TX or that would be here instead)

To be complete, I guess I should add that my background image is of a late-60s model Vette that I snapped in my parking lot at work :)

Most Used

Palm Fiction - Best all round e-book reader (IMHO)
Adobe Reader - If Palm Fiction won't get it
Acid Image - I love this for boring people with my photos - blazingly fast compared to most other picture viewers
Apt - Has the potential to make a Palm sit up and beg; bit of a steep learning curve for the novice.
ChronMemo - Alternate memo writer with bells & whistles.
CurrencyConverter - A must have if you travel abroad.
TomTom6 Navigator - knows where the speed cameras are.
TCMP - Media player handles youtube downloads.

Utilities I regard as essential

AutoOffExtender - for reading e-books without getting irritated.
MyInstall combined with
CardReader - allows you to connect your SD card to your computer and load things on and off directly without synchronising every 10 seconds.
CleanStart - This or UnCache are a must have for controlling how programs load to stop resource hogs.
UDMH - ensures memory is maxed and contiguous
WarpSpeed - Over/under clock on a per app basis to improve the efficiency and performance of your Palm.

I-bar plugin: is there anyway to make the icons smaller? I downloaded the demo and I tried the "2-line" size option, but it does not work...

I guess I'm just conservative :p
I downloaded it around the same time as buying Apt & still haven't got around to playing with it except to admire the cobalt skin Dmitry ships with it and wonder why there are no matching backgrounds.
(I haven't done Apt justice either but I'll get there).

I wanted to do this before, too. But seems there is no setting or workaround to decreasing icon size.
