I just downloaded version 3.0 and 3.1 and as far as I can see they are limited to dial up only and do not support lan or wireless access as advertised. Upon discovering this I tried to contact Handango support yesterday and was referred to their email support which has acknowledged reciept of my request/compalint but has yet to respond with any kind of resolution to the problem. At $19.95, I would recommend looking at some alternatives that work.

I am using AOL 3.1 with my wireless LAN card and it works great...though access is limited to email and AIM.....the other info services in AOL 3.0 (weather/news/etc) used web clipping capability which is not available under 0s 5. Which is fine by me...since I only used AOL for mail and Instant Messaging.

Works great for the wireless lan or TCP/IP but you have to have a connection set up in your Clie preferences. All my connections show up in the AOL choices... Handango and AOL DO NOT OFFER ANY SUPPORT AT ALL FOR THIS!!!

The Mods must have removed it.

Guess the developers got tired of having it ripped off.

Is there a way to get Wireless AIM other than paying for it? I saw some kind of program that said it could do AIM and it was free... (20 bucks... thats stupid the whole point of AIM is to be FREE)

The PC version of AIM is free. The wireless version is not.

I got it for free from an AOL CSR, maybe he was just a nice guy or whatever, the odd thing is that there is NO SUPPORT WHATSOEVER and upgrades ARE NOT FREE! If you bought 3.0 for $20 the day before 3.1 came out, too bad, need to shell out another $20. The CSR told me that AOL could care less about selling it because you cant even use it unless you are paying $180 to $290 a year for the AOL service anyway.

Can anyone confirm that AOL 3.1 also works with the Bluetooth MS using modem dialup to cellphone or such? AOl 2.0 does not seem to acknowledge a modem connection setup using bluetooth. Would be nice to be able to demo software before buying, but guess it's not possible. Thanks

Apparently he was wrong :).
